Really bad "image"

Summary: I was in the computer support business for over 20 years. Machines like this are "imaged" to install the operating system, device drivers, etc. This machine has one of the worst images I've ever seen. I blame this on the vendor - LAVATRONS. First of all; someone named Wayne has his name all over the machine, including the the actual name of the machine! Very unprofessional.
Summary: Good product, but very limited functionality. No CD drive. Have owned mine for almost 1 year. I usually buy Apple but wanted something under $1,000 for traveling and did not want iPad. Regret buying it. Tried to return to seller, restocking fee was very high. Do your research before buying. Don't be like me.
Summary: After some research, I thought that the Acer Aspire One seemed to offer good value for what I wanted, which was primarily a fairly light and small travel computer. I ordered from the road and, through the wonders of Amazon Prime, I had the computer the day after I returned home. My enthusiasm upon turning the computer on was quickly tempered when I was greeted with the Black Screen of Death.
Summary: This is my second Acer. I bought this one for my wife since she mostly does web surfing and email. It's really heavy and slow. Just a few months of use and the hard drive died. I replaced the drive with an older one since I didn't want her to have to deal with downtime for a repair. I recently bought a Toshiba Portege and have been extremely happy with it. It was a lot more money, but seems better built, is significantly lighter, and much faster.
Hard drive failed after 4.5 months of use (review updated 8/22/12)

Summary: I must edit my review. Yesterday, August 22, 2012 (about four months after purchase), the Western Digital hard drive in this netbook failed. I'm not too picky about cheap tech, but I do expect these things to last more than four months. I don't abuse my computers, run them clean, and the most resource-intensive program I regularly use is MS Word. Reading more recent reviews, I can see my netbook is not the only one with the issue of the failed HD.
Great little computer that had display go bad within a week.

Summary: I bought this amazing little computer for WiFi Internet use and for storing and playing back videos downloaded through the Amazon.com Unbox software. The display was great, and it played videos flawlessly; to me a miracle at the price point. Here I had everything my laptop has only without the DVD drive. The problem is that the display developed a blue line down the middle that was there all the time.
Summary: I bought this netbook a month ago and ever since it is a source of a continous disappointment. I only gave it two stars because of the abtility to play movies nicely and the great battery life. Other than that it is just not living up my expectations. The keyboard is not that good as mentioned in some reviews the mouse pad is unconfortable to use as well. The processor speed is mediocre.
