Good for the 1 year warranty, but not beyond!

Summary: We bought this for my mother for her birthday, as she wanted a laptop. We thought this would be perfect. She had it for a little over a year and now the hard drive has completely crashed and her laptop is toast. She could get a new hard drive for another $225, which is more than 1/2 of what we paid for the computer initially, or she can get a new computer. It makes you wonder if these crashes are programmed into the computer somehow!
Summary: I bought this netbook a year ago including the 1GB RAM upgrade many purchasers recommended. The only positive thing I can report is that the update was indeed very easy - the additional RAM went in in less than 5 minutes. Everything else has been a major disappointment. This netbook needs 3-5 minutes to boot up, and tends to freeze for about 30 seconds every hour or so - I have never been as close to throwing out a piece of hardware as I have with this one.
Summary: I bought this netbook for medical school so that I can walk around with my ebooks and not break my back. It worked for about 4 months and one day before an exam I was sitting and reading a power point lecture and it first went blue, then black and that was the end of that. The harddrive has completely crashed. I took it to 2 IT techs and there is nothing that can be done and all my information has been lost. I know it looks good and the price is affordable but DO. NOT.
Summary: I purchased your Aspire One 722 last January for $389. In the past month I have increasingly experiencing 'black screens' initially after approximately 30 minutes from turning on then increasing to within 10 minutes. Exploring your site provided no solutions. Consulting two individuals with computer backgrounds I learned that this problem is common with acer net books and they directed me to a site with instructions on how to fix it.
Summary: Had the computer for 2 months and now it no longer connects to wireless. Have tried everything, including talking to the call center tech guys in Chennai and they keep telling me how I need to try to fix it myself, but I've tried everything and it still won't work. My IT people have also looked at it and can't do anything. Asked if I could return it to get it fixed, but they insist I try different stuff. Very frustrated.
Summary: Don't often write reviews but don't want others to make the mistake I did. Contrary to what some people have experienced, this netbook is slow.... Slow to boot, slow to open programs. I bought this mainly to use as a word processor. There are several times during a session using MS Word that I type a word and blink a few times before it pops up on the screen. Can't watch netflix on it becasue it turns into a slide show.

Summary: Acer Aspire One AO722-BZ454 11.6-Inch HD Netbook (Espresso Black) Purchased 9 of them in February for use in LEGO Mindstorms robotics workshops that started in March. On the first day of use, 1 of the hard drives crashed (Error message: No boot device found, check cable connection). On the 2nd day of use, another hard drive crashed....same error message. Contacted ACER customer service who confirmed the hard drive crash and sent Fedex labels so we could mail them in.
I cannot describe how much I'm disappointed with this product.

Summary: It's so horrible that if Amazon allowed to give me the star scale that I wanted, I would give a negative star. On my first day of opening the product, I was quite happy. I had to do a lot of setups including Kaspersky and deleting programs that the laptop came with. When I was done with this procedure, I finally started to check emails, downloading lectures, and started note writing.
Summary: bought this for X-mas (so it sat in a box for 3 weeks), then after a month of use just froze while online. not amenable to ctrl-alt-del at all, and upon hard restart "no bootable disk detected." acer customer service was helpful and didn't appear surprised. shipping this one back for repairs.....there is another similar review from someone who appears to have bought it around the same time. bad batch maybe?
