Summary: I have less than 20 hours of use on this Acer Aspire AOA 150 and the battery is dead,it will not open IE and the screen is shaky and the color red.' I know this is not a high priced machine, I am very dissapointed with it. I have updated all the drivers that were available and even contacted Acer, but because it is out of warranty by 1 month, Acer would not help me.
Summary: I would have rated this laptop fairly high, we got it at a good price, and it was perfect for my son to use to access the internet (and not tie up our other computers). BUT...we had a problem with the video component of the laptop after only about 6 months. We returned it to Acer (they have no local service facility and they REQUIRE that you ship it back to them at YOUR cost) for repair because it was still under warranty.
Summary: After reading the Amazon reviews, which were largely positive, I ordered this unit for a trip to Thailand and Cambodia. I had read the one review which said "I heard good things about this item, but unfortunately the one I received did not have the operating system installed. I had to return it for a full refund". Remarkably enough, the unit I received was also missing an operating system!
Summary: I am extremely disappointed with the Acer Aspire One. It worked for exactly one month, or 31 days to be exact, so it was impossible to return. It is light and would have been ideal for travel, but on day 31 it simply would not turn on. The support URL listed in the service flyer was not operational and the representative in India could barely be understood.
Summary: My experience with the netbook: 0. I couldn't easily find any proper telephone numbers in the manual, had to go online (on another computer). 1. Serial number of my netbook was associated with wrong purchase date (8 months earlier so my 1 year warranty would expire in 4 months). I had to fax them a proof of purchase to correct that. 2. MacAffe security software sucked absolutely: it didn't let me enter neither of my emails or common websites like Nitflix.
Summary: While this is a nice attempt, the Acer was slow and the hard drive crashed after just 3 weeks. I returned it and purchased it's Big Brother (the D150-1577) and there were hardware issues right out of the box with that unit. I ended up returning it is well after multiple calls to the poor English speaking folks at Tech Support. Acer lost me as a customer...I'll stick to Dell and Sony.
Excerpt: I do not know how to fix this so I have to deal with it. Unlike other computers, this one does not come with a web cam. I have bought a separate web cam, but it is really hard to place on the monitor. I have to get a stack of books and put the web cam there. I paid $400 including tax for the Acer Aspire One and I did not get a lot out of it. It is simply not worth getting. I feel like it is a piece of junk.
Summary: Brand new right out from the box, attach the battery, plug in the AC, press the power button and being exciting. While Windows is still loading, POP, it powers off completely. Press the power button again, powers off within 30 seconds. Trying to keep it in the bios config screen thinking maybe the Windows is causing it, still doing that.
Summary: My wife just bought one of these, and we found it wouldn't connect to our WiFi network unless plugged in to the power adapter. After struggling unsuccessfully to get connected, it connected immediately when we finally connected the charger. And as soon as we disconnected the charger, the WiFi connection dropped. Then she took it with to school, and it refused to connect to the public unprotected WiFi network, regardless of whether or not it's plugged in to the charger.
