Acer Aspire One (10-inch)

PC Magazine
21 March 2009
  • Conclusion: Acer proves that it's still the master of the netbook recession special with the new and improved Aspire One (10-inch).
  • Pros: Phenomenal battery life. Six-cell battery is standard with the price. Still the most affordable netbook around. Ten-inch widescreen and mouse buttons are consistent with everyone else's.
  • Cons: Its 89 percent keyboard has some catching up to do. Mouse buttons were difficult to use.

  • Conclusion: Since it first debuted, the One has added several options like a 10-inch screen, numerous hard drive choices, and a 6-cell battery, while keeping its price competitive with the rest of the field.
  • Pros: Very inexpensive. Multiple storage options. Six-cell battery available. Intuitive Linux interface. Second SD slot for storage expansion. Intel Atom platform.
  • Cons: Mouse buttons are adjacent to the touchpad. Keyboard is smaller than the competition.

IT PRO

  • Summary: Take the relatively curt battery life on the chin, and your cash buys you a fantastically capable netbook. We hope that any minor wrinkles will be ironed out by the time production units are available, but for now, the Aspire one wins a well-deserved Recommended award.

  • Cons: No masterizzatore; Memoria flash scarsa
