Touch screen very responsive and even the low res screen looks fairly good when set against higher res display

Summary: Have used heavily for a year, every manner of surfing and streaming video, regularly outputting video to external HDMI display, even light video-editing and gaming (Alien Isolation at medium settings most recently), this has been a rock-solid performer surprising me at every turn. Touch screen very responsive and even the low res screen looks fairly good when set against higher res display. Battery life is stellar, often exceeding 7 hours at 50% brightness.
Summary: Best laptop I've had to date, currently using it for school as I'm study for a bachelor's in Computer Science and the laptop has yet to let me down, having used it for a year now, it still hold ups and keyboard is still great even after endless java coding. The only complaint would be the trackpad, its buggy sometimes but nonetheless, a well performing laptop.
Very good value for money running Windows and Linux

Summary: The Acer M5-583P gives very good value for money. The case is slim, good looking and sturdy. The specifications and performance are very adequate. With its competitive price the touch screen and illuminated keyboard are bonuses that work very well. It also runs Linux perfectly.
Summary: I usually never write reviews even though i always want too but i get so distracted and forget but not today. From reading the reviews here it looks like most are having OS issues. When i first got this laptop i could not stand W8, its crap in my opinion, so i ordered a new SSD swapped out the 500 GB HD (made it into an external drive) and installed Ubuntu 14.04.
Summary: Really enjoying this laptop. Note there IS NOT a standard "calculator" style 11 button keypad on the right hand side of the keyboard, only the symbol/number keys under the "F" keys. Buttons for power, CD/DVD eject are rather small to push, but once you get use to them it's easy. All other ports IE: 1 3.0 USB, 1 USB with power-off charging, HDMI, Ethernet (RJ-45), DC-In jack, and Kensington security cable lock slot are all located in the rear of the laptop.
