  • Conclusion: The Acer Ethos Aspire 5951G-9694 is a more-than-capable performer in its class. It also offers some Lexus-level conveniences that place it a cut above more pedestrian models in the $1,400 price range. While the model of Sony's VAIO F Series that we tested gave it a run for its money in CPU performance, the small gains there were insignificant compared with the big wins by the Acer Ethos Aspire in graphics performance and battery life.
  • Pros: Strong performance, Solid construction, Excellent battery life, Extras such as a built-in remote control
  • Cons: Heavy, Audio could use improvement
