Summary: It gets the job done! If you're on a budget and you have Wi-Fi at home or you have access to it. I'd say get it. The glossy glare on this one you'd have to adjust the screen for like watching movies or videos. I use this for the web and videos, movies, music. It's good. No complaints. Only fix the glossy glare and make video recording more easy. Still trying to figure that part out.
Summary: mini laptop with this operating system does not work in Venezuela and I think in a few places in the world where there is no free wifi in the country, everything is stored in the cloud and if you are not connected will not be able to open almost anything from your computer, do not I recommend it to Venezuela, I'm trying to change the system to another as windows 8 or 7, the computer is beautiful and tough but has that problem .........
Summary: I purchased four of these for work. 3 out of the 4 work great. 1 did not work out of the box. I have returned the 1 but now they are out of stock online. I am stuck with 3 and have to purchase 1 that does not match the other 3.
Summary: I have this refurbished Chromebook and also own the previous-generation Acer Chromebook for at least a year.
Pros: Faster than the previous generation. Interior is flawless--the shiny plastic has been restored. No stuck pixels!! Solid keyboard (see Cons). Small and sturdy (see Cons).
Cons: The plastic used in the shell does not hold up well. This refurbished one has scratches all over the top, but it's not from dropping it, it's from regular usage. My previous-generation Acer Chromebook also has inexplicable chips in its outer shell. This doesn't affect performance but it looks unsightly and my speculation is why Newegg is selling the refurbs at a great price. From looking at my previous-generation Acer Chromebook, this model is much faster and more upg...
Pros: It's an impressively sleek little device. Seems solid. Newegg was cooperative with replacement. (Item arrived DOA.)
Cons: Item arrived DOA with warranty seal broken. Would not boot. Would not run recovery. Item was shipped in retail box with no padding whatsoever. Nothing at all to protect the item from impact in transit.
Summary: I received my Acer C710 Chromebook. Upon starting the computer it was discovered that it had a problem. The OS would only allow my to access the computer as a guest user. The system would not allow me to enter the initial setup user login screen. After a couple of hours of online research I was able to repair the problem by downloading an OS recovery file at the Google website and using the file copied to a USB drive to reinstall the operating system.
Pros: Very clean and lightweight internet computer. Fast free shipping. Great value with rebate.
Cons: Unusable out of the box. Very tinny speakers,
Summary: I will say, the computer starts up really fast!! I don't understand why it has an onscreen keyboard because the machine doesn't have touch screen capability. It's a bit off putting trying to figure out where to go for adjusting settings on this system (i.e. help topics, online user guides, etc.). It only appears to play certain type of video files which is what I most the computer for (to be able to travel lightly carrying my media files).
