Summary: I wanted to be able to play and digitize Blu-Ray movies. On receiving the notebook, I put it to the test. The optical Blu-Ray drive out-of-the-box hung up, stuttered and sputtered--it was defective. I was not able to play any dvd and it did ruin data on some non-Blu-Ray disks I used to try to load data to the PC. In fairness, it was in a refurbished PC. I cannot be certain that the product manufacturer can be fully held accountable.
Excerpt: this acer is no different than other acers ive had or a friend has had. the batter life is terrible i cant leave it unplugged for more than 30 mins without depleting the battery. its also unbearable to leave on my lap because of the amount of heat it produces. it runs slow and it takes forever to play videos. all around worst computer ever.
Excerpt: the acer aspire notebook is really a bad investment. i have had so many different problems with this notebook, i dont even know where to begin. its made with low quality parts and it sure even looks cheap.
Excerpt: back in 2008 when i got my first laptop it was an Acer Aspire i loved it... I used it everyday, took it everywhere i went the only problem with this kind of computer is it comes with a crappy anti-virus pack that does absolutly nothing so eventually your laptop becomes junk because once it crashes they are the hardest laptops to repair... i know this from experience its been a year and a half and i've finally almost got it fixed so whats that tell you!!!!
Excerpt: I purchased the acer with a warranty and it crashed on in in the first year and a half. Unfortunately, it wasn't the hard drive, which was under warranty, so I had to let it go and purchase a new computer. I was very disappointed in it.
