Screen fails after 6 months
Fiorella P., Amazon

Summary: I purchased 2 of these (one for me and one for my son) both have had screen fail before warranty expired. What started out as a black spot in the corner has spread across the screen until it's no longer usable. I have sent them back under warranty repair, which has so far fixed the problem. This is clearly a design defect. Check this link: [...] One of the laptops I bought is one of these defective laptops. As the warranty already expired, they won't fix this problem.
Summary: I purchased 5 of these for work in October 2010, and 4 of them have had screens fail between then and now in normal use. What started out as a black spot in the corner has spread across the screen until it's no longer usable. I have sent them back under warranty repair, which has so far fixed the problem. This is clearly a design defect.
Summary: I bought 2 of these, because of its price and spec. It had been great before the problem arose. About after 6 months, the battery is not charged full and the full capacity was decreasing. I changed the battery by calling acer support. Same thing happened after a few months later and changed the battery again. A year later, the screen of one notebook went black. Two months later the other showed same problem. Both are out of warranty.
Do not buy one of these. They are totally unreliable.

Summary: I bought this computer just under a year and a half ago. I've had to take it in twice for repairs. First, the hard drive was defective and needed to be replaced. Then it was the wireless card and motherboard. It's still crashed on me since then, but not enough to justify putting it in the shop again. The battery also died about 9 months after I got it. Acer sent me a replacement, but now it's out of warranty, and the battery isn't working again.
Summary: I bought this machine about 6 months ago. Had been working really well - and then a windows 7 auto install a few weeks ago seemed to slow it down. I tried to go back to a recovery point but for some reason there were no restore points available ( I ALWAYS set restore points). A firefox update a few days later left the machine crawling - although unclear if it was the windows update or the firefox. The next time I came out of hibernate I got the blue screen of death.
Summary: They said it was a laptop with such features but they sent me another with less features. I cheated, that upset me a lot and only refunded me $ 30. 'm not going to buy at the store, also had problems because they do not put the bill to the tax issue depago. I live in Santo Domingo and is relevant to the bill for such purposes. Me dijeron que era una laptop con tales caracteristicas pero me enviaron otra con menores caracteristicas.
Summary: Bought this laptop for my wife and the screen goes dead in 4 months!. I'm having to connect the laptop to an external monitor now till I'm able to afford a replacement monitor which seems to cost as much as buying the laptop all over again!
Summary: I ordered this computer from TheFectoryDepot on Amazon on Tuesday(7/13), and I got it on the next day. The shipping was very fast. After I unboxed the computer, I noticed that the processor was different from "SU4100". It was "SU2700" (single core) which is more slower than the SU4100. So, I contacted TheFectoryDepot and told them the situation that I got, but what they replied me was that Amazon LISTED THE ITEM MODEL NUMBER WRONG!!
Summary: When I first bought my Acer Timeline 3810TZ I was really happy with it, it looked great and worked well. A few months later Acer announces a recall because of a problem with the microphone cable. Acer Tech support is terrible, as many other reviewers pointed out. I travelled to another country and they made me pay Fedex to send the faulty laptop to Texas even though there was a local Acer warranty center in the country I was in at that time.
