Summary: Great laptop, solid build. The most powerful on the market to date, hp, Mac or alienware don't provide any laptops that go up to 16gigs of ram with 4 slots for your ram. I found one other laptop that goes up to 16gigs but the gpu was lacking and it was smaller among other things that were lacking. I do video, motion graphics, special fx and things of that nature so gpu is important.
Summary: This was the second Acer, that I have had both the same style. The first one crashed a week after the warranty expired. I never found out what really went bad on other than the power. This one I just sent it in to Acer today it is the mother bard. I liked the computer it is big and good speed. I don't think they did their homework on this one.
Summary: I shopped around for a few weeks before I purchased this laptop. I didn't want to spend a ton of cash (no more than $1500). I was looking for a new system that could replace my desktop, and still have quite the punch with performance. This machine is EXACTLY what I needed. The display is bright, crisp, and fully what I expected for an HD display. Movies, games, pictures, and desktop all pop beautifully on the screen.
ACER TECHNICAL SUPPORT DOES NOT SUPPORT PRODUCT CLAIMS for this product.

Summary: I Purchased an ACER ASPIRE 8943g-9319 with high expectations and at a high price. The build quality of this product is mostly very good. Unfortunately, the product does not fully live up to the claimed advertising. Amazon and Acer clearly claim that there is support for a second hard drive on this product.
Summary: Techno Intelligence/Amazon has this laptop listed for $100 more than Acer's retail price on their website (this is insane), and other well known computer parts websites (new***.com) have it listed at $1,249.99. What a rip-off. It just goes to show you to shop around before making your decision.
Summary: This machine met all my requirements on paper - I wanted an i7 with discreet graphics, 16Gb RAM capable, bluray, and no Sandy Bridge. It is a very nice laptop, with one or two caveats. Fit and finish is good. There is no "cheap plastic" feel, it's solid, and for the sheer size of the thing, it is surprisingly thin and light. The screen is lovely, no dead pixels, good viewing angles, but could be brighter.
Summary: First, a small criticism for Amazon because they wrote: Amazon.com Product Description: 500 GB SATA hard drive (5400 RPM) with support for a second hard drive This is not true and explain why because I got a reply from Acer: First Response: "Unfortnately we could not provide cover for the second hard drive bay. I apologize for the inconvenience that you have experienced.
Summary: This is a beautiful computer and, for one so large, fairly light and portable -- thanks in large part to the brushed aluminum top. The screen in full HD and is bright and clear. The keyboard carries out the silver color of the aluminum and feels wonderful and solid to the touch. I love a backlit keyboard but the light-colored keys pick up light from the screen, making it easy to see even in low light conditions. With its i7 processor, it is fast and clean.
Summary: Acer AS8943G-9429 18.4-Inch Laptop (Aluminum) I bought this Acer as a desktop replacement after reading other reviews here and on the web. This laptop is huge but quite light for its size. It is fast, its fan is quiet, and it does not get warm after using it for 15+ hours. The keyboard and its squarish button design was a point of contention for me in the beginning.
Summary: My second laptop, the first being a Macbook Pro now about 4 years old, still great. Yep, same hard drive bay cover problem, went out in the garage a very carefully cut a slot where the cover interfered with the edge of the hard drive. Epoxied a rectangular piece of steel mesh screen from another old computer, backed with a fine fiber screen, to the outside of the new slot. Fits perfectly.
