Excerpt: I have owned many computers and laptops. I HATE this one. Vista is a nightmare. No tutorials on the display. The book is useless. The machine has a bluray player the book has no mention of it or how to connect it to your HDTV. this is one of the reasons I purchased it.
Summary: My last laptop failed on me due to power problems I then decided to invest £599 on an acer aspire laptop at the time. It looked attractive with a inbuilt webcam. Little did I know it would give me more grief than the first laptop I had. The laptop got sent away over 6 times for overheating and power problems. It is getting sent away to the tech guys on Sunday and getting written off. When my insurance money comes through on it I am investing in a Mac Mini.

Summary: When i purchased this item i though, i was buying a very good laptop, i was excited and couldn't wait for it to arrive. 6 months after, purchasing the laptops, i had a few problems, but i solved them, after about 9 months however both the battery and the power supply gave up in close sucession, i called up as i thought i was covered by the 1 year guarentee, however according to acer, the warrentee is only up to 6 months for the battery and power supply.
Summary: Acer tech support has got to be the worst i have EVER experienced. They are rude, send machines back with faults they never had in the first place and will take for ever to fix faults. I would NEVER recommend anyone to buy ANY Acer equipment!
Summary: I bought this laptop after seeing a friends in use for 3 months. My friend had no problems, but the one I bought (and its replacement) both had faults and were returned. Amazon's returns policey was very good and I obtained a refund without any hassle. The moral is, IF YOU BUY ONE - CHECK IT OUT THOROUGHLY; especially the functions that you don't use so often.
Summary: Just to remind buyers that support for HD DVD is now being cancelled and no new films are being released using HD-DVD as Blu-ray has won the format wars- you will probably have to replace the drive if you want to continue to watch HD films on this laptop
