Summary: While some folks gave this laptop good ratings, I cannot. It has frozen many times (still does) and at other times has remained on when it should have powered off . I have even had to remove the battery to power it off when nothing else worked! I still have it because I hate the hassle of returning it. It has a nice screen and keyboard but that doesn't compensate for its flaws. I would not recommend this laptop.
Summary: When opening up the unit I notice that the center of the screen slightly bends. Over time, this is more than likely going to crack. The keys on the keyboard are secured by a a small piece of plastic in the center only so the keys bend when you don't place your finger directly on top of the key. The keyboard is shifted to the left to make room for the number keys at the right.
Summary: I searched for the best option price/quality for a laptop that i could find, and i found it, the only problem was the battery life, no big deal. So i bought it to replace my pavillion DV6, by the way a piece of junk, the video died completely just after the garanty expired. To make the history short, when the brand new laptop arrived, i turned it on and followed the process to start it, when i got to the step, type your user's name, i could type nothing, what a beautiful...
Summary: I returned this computer the day after I received it. The keys are a bit high above the actual surface of the keyboard so typing is a bit awkward. Also, the touchpad is the exact same material as the hand resting area on either side, and it is difficult to move your finger because of the friction. Minor annoyances, but not the kind I'm prepared to deal with on a daily basis. But apparently no one else was bothered by this, so maybe it's just me.
Summary: I've had this laptop for over a year now and I'm very disappointed. I had high hopes with it due to its great specs but it didn't quite deliver due to a major flaw. It has a slim body, which for most people is a good thing but with this much power under the hood, its supposed to have either a bigger body or a better heat dissipation system. Due to this, it gets super hot very easily and crashes.
Pros: Has the potential to be a great machine
Cons: Terrible design renders all computing power useless
Excerpt: "...i can say thats 3 Acer Laptops i have bought in a year, i won't be purchasing Acer products anymore. These computers are slow and unreliable, and don't run like they should, and the on/off switch is in such a rediculous place that when hadling the laptop i am accidently switching the computer on and off without wanting to. ...
Pros: Bright clear screen
Cons: Speed of item is a big let down, button layout is of bad design
Summary: I totally disagree with substantial parts of the cnet review. I have 5750G with an i5 (bought 2 weeks ago) and it had the best specifications in the range. I came from a Macbook which is my "benchmark", and I can say that the touchpad on the Acer laptop is poor quality. It is unresponsive and not really that big if you consider the scroller area to the right of the touchpad and when touched and for some reason touching the touchpad disables the keyboard keys and vice...
