Review Acer Aspire 5741G-334G50Mn Notebook

Notebookcheck
29 November 2010
  • Conclusion: The Acer Aspire 5741G-334G50MN with the Core i3-330M (2.13 GHz) is an office all-rounder with comparably high power. The Core i3-330M is, generally speaking, better than its Core 2 Duo predecessor with a similar or higher clock speed. Particularly multi-core applications profit here. The entry-level GPU ATI Mobility Radeon HD5470 can play current 3D games only in reduced details and resolution.
  • Pros: Touchpad and keyboard, TFT has good brightness, Good performance in various applications, Low exhaust heat, Low power consumption, Finally a pleasant and insensitive interior surface. Has the manufacturer had a change of heart?
  • Cons: Short battery life, TFT does not have a matte finish, Low contrast, The 5714G isn't a a dyed-in-the wool multimedia device. A matte display would have given the 15.6-incher more credibility as an office laptop.

An inexpensive Acer laptop that can tackle many different tasks

Good Gear Guide.au
8 January 2011
  • Summary: Acer's Aspire 5741 comes in many guises, but the Aspire 5741-434G50Mn model that we reviewed is perfect for anyone who wants an affordable laptop that can be used for almost any task except serious gaming. It's a 15.6in notebook with a full-sized keyboard and a number pad and it feels comfortable to use on your lap. We just wish its screen was better.
  • Pros: Inexpensive, good speed for office tasks and media encoding, doesn't feel heavy
  • Cons: Screen has poor vertical viewing angles, no eSATA, keyboard keys a little stiff
