Summary: Far cheaper than the Dell or HP equivalent when I bought it. 3.5 years old now and still going very well. Replaced the battery after 3 years when the charge in it disappeared but the laptop itself is still great.
Excerpt: I have this as my current laptop and I was really contented with my purchase. The big feature has to be the touch screen. I can't say that I really use it that much though....touch screens are for tablets really...and it doesn't seem necessary to have a touch screen for a laptop. Using Onscreen keyboard in Windows 7 can be frustrating...so much so that it's quicker and easier to use the keyboard! The touch screen is responsive..
Summary: Great budget laptop for those who just want their laptop for word processing and watching videos. I've had this laptop for nearly 2 years now, and been using it daily at University. It still works a treat and is possibly the least frustrating computer I've experienced. Acer really have come in leaps and bounds recently, and this laptop I feel shows that.
All in all i am very happy with this product and would definately recommend it to others,

Excerpt: Some people have a negative view of Acer laptops and believe that they do not have the software and features that can compete with other brands. I find this to be totally wrong. This Acer laptop is user friendly and has all the essential features and programmes needed. The screen is very big and clear meaning when watching shows and films on it , the picture is crisp and you get the full viewing experience.
Summary: I was surprised to receive a beautiful dark blue laptop. It is also one of the few good spec laptops that has a pc keyboard (ie number pad on the right hand side) which is great. Only down side is the finger pad - its tries too hard to be clever where finger motions cause the mouse to expand/decrease magnification of the screen - which is annoying when all you're doing is moving your mouse from one side of the screen to another.
Excerpt: My parents purchased this laptop for me just before I started Uni, I was excited, It had that "clean" and fresh technology smell and feel, The HD screen was so bright and exotic compared to my old square screened DELL and I was happy. It played most games to a reasonable quality and surfed the internet with ease displaying video in crystal clear HD. It came with Vista 32 home basic which had a few features, mainly windows sidebar, but was just the basic deal.
Summary: I bought this to take with me on holiday.Fine size for fitting my hand luggage and not to heavy.I also found it very sturdy and had a good feel to it.As for the rest I'm no expert on laptops but as soon as I return from holiday I will be looking to upgrade to Windows 7. If I had a choice between Vista and XP I would go for Xp.Enough said for Vista.Apart from that I'm very happy with it,good sized screen very clear and quite fast. All in all worth the price and would...
Excerpt: After the tragic death of my trusty Dell Inspiron 1300 (R.I.P) I was searching for a new technical companion for my lap. Luckily i found it in this brilliant, affordable solution, the Acer Aspire 5738G. Now there is about 4 laptops in the 5738 range, each have subtle differences. The only difference i have found if that the G model lacks bluetooth. That aside, I love my laptop.
This is a great laptop for anyone wanting a low-budget, high-powered solution.

Excerpt: Runs Windows 7 like a dream. The fan is barely perceptible, The battery can last well in excess of 2hrs 30 on a single charge and the 4GB RAM means you'll never be left hanging. The external lid is a glossy, sleek, deep blue colour, and will leave you wanting to keep it your protector on for months as I did! One thing you need to be aware of is the "widescreen" configuration of the laptop.
