Summary: waiting to hear from acer on this issue or this is getting sent back to newegg
Pros: Nice Specs. Nice cam ! over all i love it if it would work wireless i would give it 5 stars.
Cons: I have a D-Link DIR-655 Router. 50 feet away from it this computer does not connect for anything. my son uses his laptop and my daughter right next to me and they can connect hands down. even my ipod touch can access it from 50ft no problem. router and modem were factory resetted and still proble...
Summary: There is a lot of junk to remove once you get started, but that really isn't a set back. I got this as a quick replacement for my dearly departed SONY laptop until I could afford either one of the new tablets that come out next year or till something really caught me eye.
Pros: Great look and feel to the machine. Nice clear screen. Good sized hard drive and 4 GB of RAM make this a great buy.
Cons: The layout of the keyboard is slightly shifted. It will take some time to get used to from other laptops I have owned. The speakers are terrible! They sound worse than my cell phone when its on speaker mode.
Summary: Great price for features, just hopefully you are not in a hurry if you have to deal with any warranty issues. This is one flaw with online purchasing.
Pros: excellent specs., great price, Newegg has excellent online services.
Cons: purchased 2 of these units, one has defective DVD drive which fails intermittently, had to send back to ACER for Warranty they replaced the Hard Drive which did not appear to have a problem. Still awaiting warranty repairs or replacement (been over 30 days since purchased, had to send back a seco...
Summary: I bought this laptop not for me but for mom. So yea for the price of 399 and features its great.
Pros: Lots and lots of features for the price!
Cons: I'm not a big fan of Acer. Only recently have they seemed well enough to last. I've owned an HP DV1000 for more than 5 years. replaced a hard drive but its still working great otherwise. So I've yet to hold my vote on the quality of Acer.
Summary: Buy it if you plan on using other mouses and speakers. Buy a mic. Performance-wise you can't beat this thing for the price. At least when I got it for 450
Pros: Great price when I got it at 450. Wouldn't spend more than that. Great keyboard, with number pad. Pretty fast with Windows 7 and 4gigs of DDR2, would be awesome with DDR3. Screen is gorgeous for its resolution. Light and well built.
Cons: No built in mic (like really?). You're gonna have to hold up signs if you want to Skype. Trackpad sucks and doesn't recognize movement well. Speakers are awful and disappointing. I'm still baffled by the fact that this notebook has a webcam but no mic. Only 2 USBs
Summary: I would have given this machin a high rating, but I'm really ticked-off about the microphone situation. I bought this because I'm traveling overseas and was attracted by the price and the built-in web-cam, only to discover that there's no point in using the web-cam with no microphone.
Pros: Windows 7 is pretty cool, machine is fast and full of nice features
Cons: No built in microphone. I seriously don't see the point of advertising a built-in web-cam with no microphone.
Summary: Overall I am pleased with this laptop, happy with the keyboard, but so disappointed when downloading skype that although there was a webcam, there was no mic - talk about silent movies. I am quite an experienced user, but I think any novice would have found it hard to spot that there is no mic!
