Summary: Acer aspire 5610 is a pretty good laptop, though quite old. It works perfectly and very durable. I've been using it since I bought it and there has been no issues with it whatsoever. I would recommend it to anyone.
Summary: The toughest notebook I have ever encountered, I have 2 of them I got the first on from a friend, who severely abused this computer, It was literally in two pieces and the darn thing worked despite that fact, I bought the second one as parts to repair the first, swapped the hard drive, memory, and battery, and the darn thing fired right up, awesome notebook runs like a dream I would definitely buy another, and would recommend it to anyone.
Summary: BAD NEWS. WASN'T LISTED CORRECTLY. HARD DRIVE BAD, MOTHERBOARD HAD BAD MEMORY SLOT. EBAYER PLAYED DUMB ABOUT THE WHOLE THING. FILED BUYER PROTECTION CLAIM. SO FAR NOTHING. WOULDN'T PAY FROM THIS PERSON AGAIN.
Excerpt: I have been using a Acer Aspire 5610Z laptop for a few months now. I purchased the machine at Wal-Mart for around $600. This is relatively cheap as far as laptops go. The computer came with Windows Vista already installed on it. At first this seemed very nice, as Vista has many more bells and whistles than XP. However, I found that after a while these bells and whistles got annoying and frustrating. I would suggest XP over Vista to pretty much everyone I know.
Excerpt: I’ve had this laptop for over a year now, and have to say it started out rough, but it got better as time went on. The first thing I did when I got it was use Acer ’s backup program to make a backup disk of the system just as it was when I bought it, which was fast and easy to do. I did this just in case anything happened, and I thought I almost needed it a couple of times.
Excerpt: Recently I made the decision to buy a laptop computer for my youngest daughter. Since she is only 7 I did not want to spend a lot of money on it as she would be taking it with her when she traveled with her Grandparents. In checking out different computers I came across a laptop at Wal-Mart for only about seven hundred dollars. The laptop was an Acer Aspire and I had never really heard of them. I am pretty much a Toshiba fan but their prices seemed too high for a child.
Excerpt: My husband bought me a Acer laptop, never owning one, I didn't know what to expect. I love my laptop, I enjoy the freedom of not being stuck to a desk all day long. The only down fall I have found with this laptop is that the battery doesn't last long. But that's why it's nice to have the cord to plug it in when it dies. It's been a great laptop for a great price.
The Acer Aspire 5610 is great once you remove the Acer software.

Excerpt: I purchased the Acer Aspire 5610 to use for school and work. When I first bought it, it came loaded with bunches of Acer software. The software hogged the memory. Once I removed the Acer software, the computer runs great. I love this laptop and would not be able to live without it even though we have two desktops as well. I recommend this affordable laptop to anyone who needs to work on the go or just wants some freedom on where they can work or play on the computer.
Excerpt: so easy to get started just plug in and use .I expected complicated setup. My only complaints would be when I set the screen to go to standby to save power it has become very dark when it come back on and I have to adjust the brightness. I have also had a couple of Vista issues that were easily resolved.
Excerpt: I bought an acer laptop before starting my sophmore year in college. The computer itself was fine but after 3 months the battery broke and it costs $200 to replace it. I talked to someone who fixes computers and he said that he sees acers in his shop every week with the same problem. Save your money and buy a more expensive but better laptop.
