Summary: I bought this laptop for my father-in-law who does not live in the US and is not computer saavy. At first it seemed like a great purchase: fast enough, well-made, stable. But after three months he got the blue screen death every time he started it, This is the second Asus laptop I have purchased that had a fatal flaw that required completely re-formatting the hard drive and re-installing the OS.
Summary: Crashed in the first 6 months from very basic use. The manufacturer took over two weeks to fix it and it crashed again two months later. I'm waiting for them to return it to me again. HUGE disappointment considering I only use it for basic Internet surfing, pics and music. I expected way more than I got with this product. Worst decision ever!
Summary: Someone once noted "A good coat of paint hides a multitude of sins" That pretty much sums up the Acer Aspire 5560 laptop and the beyond terrible support system ACER has. My iBook finally became too old to support a lot of add ons. Untill that time-for 8 years- I never had an issue with its hardware or software. 3 months into ownership of the Acer Aspire the power ribbon between the components and the screen developed a glitch.
Summary: Bought from Amazon one of the biggest headaches ever in my Acer 5560-Sb431. Been through three hard drive re-formats and turned down a $500 policy from Acer that would fix my problem and keep it running smoothly for 5 years. I will never buy another Acer product.
Summary: I thought that this Acer laptop was a bargain, judging by the reviews & features - nothing could be further from the truth. As I gradually got my favorite software & data installed, I didn't have time to do much else with the computer. Finally, I got online & tried playing a few videos. I did get the video portion, but NO AUDIO! The machine would play the annoying Windows sounds, but it was silent with every browser.
Summary: Three months after purchasing the key board stoped working. Key board needed replacing plus extra for installation. This is my first purchase of an Acer lap top, never happend with my previous purchases of Toshiba lap tops off of Amazon. Very dissapointed.
Summary: Got this computer since it seemed like the best deal for the price at the time when we were looking for a new computer for school. Started out great had no problems then after a month we started noticing that almost every time we tried to put the computer to sleep for a few hours we would open it back up and it would of ran the battery completely dead, even if the battery was completely charged to start with.
Summary: fast, loved it, but in less than a week it got so hot plugged in I couldn't touch it then the battery wouldn't charge and the touch pad stopped working. I wasn't given the option to exchange it. Had to return it or send it in to acer for repair. Actually cried returning it, when I first used it I was thrilled but it is no bargain to have a computer that needs to be repaired when it has been used less than 5 hours.
