ACER is the best laptop builder at this time. You can't go wrong with one.
8 February 2014
Summary: This ACER is a great laptop. Lightweight, powerful 4 core, great display, ACER build quality. Battery life could be better but the keyboard, touch pad are nice, fast bootup and Windows 7 just works unlike Win 8 which was designed for touchpads and phones and made to fit a laptop. My wife loves it especially for the red color. Not many non-black laptops anymore. and she doesn't like tablets, can't type on a touch pad plus how do you hold them.
Summary: Returned a product to Acer for warranty repair and after two weeks received an email informing me they were have difficulty getting a part to repair the problem. Three days later received a brand new replacement of the product. Was very pleased.
Pros: Seems like the previous reviewer had a bad experience with tech support and some faulty hardware. Hopefully it was taken care of. I have been selling computers for over 16 years and began recommending Acer to my customers over six years ago because of the great products and tech support. My customers and I have never had an issue when contacting Acer about warranty work.
Cons: Acer support can be a little confusing at first. To talk to anyone you must first enter the SNID number of the product. Once the number is entered correctly you move on to talk to a rep. which will ask you again for the SNID number.
Summary: The laptop is wider than similar spec'd machines, great key spacing, flat semi-chicklet style yet comfortable keyboard, wide touch pad, minimal bloatware installed, great looking and perfect size, weight and speed for many types of scenarios, buy it if you can't find a better deal... it only lacks a few newer features as listed above but otherwise this is a good buy.
Summary: I bought this Laptop for my mother. She was a bit affrait to be short on power, but even me was very pleased with the performance. I bought this laptop and add a 60Gb OCZ SSD to replace the Hard drive. It changed drasticly the performance ! Boot in about 15 sec. It's damn quick. Overall, it's a good laptop. the A8 doing a good job, not as much as intel, but since it's not a ''high-end'' PC, it doen't matter.
Pros: -Good Power, -Good RAM, -Damn Good Graphics, -Good Screen, -IMO the best Quality / price
Cons: -Still a laptop, so slow compare to other PC, -Not a ''performance monster''
Summary: I was so surprised to find that my laptop didn't have a single scratch or any indication that it had ever been used. It really does look brand new. It says not to review the seller but a seller of a refurbished laptop pretty much defines the product so regardless, they deserve a thumbs up on this one.
Summary: Bought this for a client and swapped the drive with a WD scorpio black 750gb drive straight from opening the box. I bought a 2.5 case for about 10$ and delivered the laptop with a backup HD. This is a good laptop cheaper than intel that will run games at decent specs.
Pros: Dedicated graphics, true quad core cpu.
Cons: 5400rpm drive, replace it with something faster.
Summary: been mainly gaming on this laptop, here are a few games i've tried so far on high settings, -Kingdoms of amalur --HIGH SETTINGS -World of warcraft -- HIGH SETTINGS -Dragon age --HIGH SETTINGS -Dead space 2 --HIGH SETTINGS -Oblivion --HIGH SETTINGS -Alan wake --MEDIUM SETTINGS -Half life 2 --MAX SETTINGS -Dead island HIGH SETTINGS -Torchlight MAX SETTIGS Overall its a great laptop for gaming an movies, can't go wrong when this laptop is on sale.
Pros: great video card, keyboard feels good, cpu is strong for most tasks an lots of harddrive space.
Cons: harddrive could have been faster an cpu is not as strong as intels.
