Summary: I got this laptop for a Christmas present 2 years ago, and it's still running fine. Only one problem I've had with it. It overheats very easily. I recommend downloading some software to keep up with the temp. Mine has got up to over 189 F before. So beware. I do use it all the time, but still.
Summary: it is good for surfing the internet and watching movies on the internet, its meant for online meetings and things like msn messenger its also got a pretty decent web cam how ever the dvd drive sucks
Summary: i recently purchased this system...owned it for about a 2 months now and so far so good..cant complain as yet...i will have to run a few intense programs on the system to test the performance,,then i will place a follow up review.
Summary: I've had my laptop for about three months now, and am very happy with it. Fast processor, decent amount of storage, graphics indecisive as I don't do a lot of games to really test it, very good screen, and seems to be well constructed. I've heard a lot of complaints about the mouse pad, but after I figured out the settings on the elan smart pad no problems. In fact, my only complaint is I really like the keys I type on to be concaved a little, these are flat.
Summary: pros: I really like the acer aspire 5552-6838, it is fast processor for someone browsing the web, emails, pictures. screen is bright with good resolution and good size. cons: speaker is weak, only has one, no very good quality, the battery does not last very long..
Summary: I tried to write a review which was rather lengthy but somehow got mysteriously deleted when I was almost finished. OK, so let's try this again. This machine handles heavy duty programs but its Achilles Heel is the touchpad. First of all, there is apparently no way to adjust sensitivity. Unreliable, unpredictable scrolling. Unwanted links pop up all the time when unprompted. Completely flat profile on the touchpad so that you cannot feel your way to find the left click.
Summary: I bought this laptop to finish High School and make it through my first year or so of College. After 6 months of use, I feel like I've known the in's and out's of this computer. Fortunately for me, most of the "problems" I've had with this computer have been complete user error. But, the installed Windows 7 Home Premium flagged my computer as Non-Genuine after a month of use. I am still not certain if this was Acer's error, or Microsoft's.
Pros: Durablility, Power, Graphics,
Cons: Bloatware, Tinny Sound System, No Bluetooth, HD space feels small.
Overall, its quite a reliable laptop, and is very user-friendly.

Excerpt: Acer 5552 This Acer is definitely a fantastic run for your money. For the specifications, It is amazing value. This laptop is perfect for office applications eg.Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel. So perfect for students who need to do college work. But due to quite a low processor speed, and integrated graphics card, it is not very good for playing games later than 2005/6. Features- Webcam- The webcam is an integrated 3.2 Mega pixel camera.
Excerpt: I apologise in advance as I am not very technological so please don't expect a review full of specifications and what-not because I just haven't a clue!!! I am hoping that people will appreciate this review as being simple and to the point rather than being blinded by numbers and abbreviations.
Summary: I use this laptop as a desktop replacement, and I am very happy with it's performance. I added memory, bringing it to 8gb, and I have a USB to sata hard drive dock for backup, I use either my Onkyo/Bose stereo or Logitech G930 Headset for my sound, so I really dont mind the lack of onboard stereo speakers ( laptop speakers, even the best ones tend to be tinny at best). If you buy one of these upgrade your Ram, and you will have a great performing laptop.
Pros: Price, Performance of CPU, Hard disc size, Graphics
Cons: expansion options, Installed memory not adequate, speaker
