Nothing but frustration

Luong V., Newegg
8 August 2014
  • Pros: Affordable i5 laptop
  • Cons: - The keys feels like it would fall off. It takes some time to get used to - Acer junk-wares: too many Acer wares. I tried to uninstall the wares I believe that is non essential, the c:\user\default files got corrupted. That means only admin account can log in. Other accounts couldn't login at all. - Login is slow compare to my Acer Aspire V5 with an i3 CPU. I don't know why yet I haven't return the unit because of Newegg return policy. If is was at the other internet...

Don't buy this (UPDATE TO MAYBE BUY THIS)

Jack W., Newegg
2 August 2014
  • Summary: If you get this on a really good sale it may be ok for you. For me and my wife the biggest issue is the darn trackpad. It seems like small thing, but my wife can't even get it to scroll with the two finger method and got so mad she won't touch it anymore. I have 2 other windows 8 laptops, those two are Dell's and I have 2 HP Windows 7 laptops. And I have no issues with the trackpad on any of those.
  • Pros: Inexpensive (when on sale) and fast for a budget laptop. The battery is great on this and I often get 7 hours of medium use. UPDATED went from 1 to 3 stars for an average of 2
  • Cons: I can't find a way to edit my old review, so here is an updated one, the wifi issues are not as bad as I initially thought: I wanted to like this laptop, it is cheap for an i5 system but it has some major flaws. The track pad is so sensitive my wife refuses to use it as she gets mad at it. I can use it pretty good most of the time without getting too mad at it, but it took a week for me to get to the point I can use it some. Unlike other trackpads there is no way to a...

Good battery, slow, wifi problems

Jure M., Newegg
19 July 2014
  • Summary: Going to re-install my own version of Windows 8 on this laptop to get rid of the additional software. I've done this with every laptop that I've bought in the last 10 years. Might also get a solid state drive to increase boot time and speed.
  • Pros: Battery lasts long - about 6 hours on average, which is allows for a few good movies and some web surfing.
  • Cons: Despite being a i5 Haswell chip, the laptop is rather slow to respond. Perhaps it's the Windows 8.1, or the other pre-installed programs that slow down the computer. Wifi also automatically disconnects every hour (no other laptop does this in the household). Not sure if a hardware or software problem.

  • Summary: I'm using this laptop since late 2010. In 2,5 years there have been 2 major problems. First it lagged and couldn't let me boot windows. After a format it was running smooth again! But then the cooling fan broke down, destroying my graphics card. Now i'm running on windows 8 pro and it's really stable. Overall, if you upgrade RAM & HDD it is a fine choice for everyday use.

  • Summary: Ive had this for about a year now, being a student, I tend to dabble in a fairly broad range of software ranging from programming and word processing to much more advanced 3d rendering and image editing software. I own the slightly higher spec model with 4gb RAM and 640GB HDD which is a plus, and from reviews I've read, this seems to make a fair bit of difference.

Acer Aspire 5552G-P344G50Mnkk Equilibrato

  • Pros: Prezzo,
  • Cons: Durata Batteria

Ottimo, unico problema o Windows7 o NIENTE!!!

  • Pros: veloce, tanta ram e grande hd
  • Cons: nessun driver oltre W7
