Summary: Would probably not have ordered this laptop if I had known there was no access covers on the bottom.
Pros: Low price for a i5 laptop when on sale.
Cons: It came without a DVD drive but that wasn't a deal breaker for me since I have a portable USB DVD drive. My biggest concern is that I don't see a way to upgrade the memory or hard drive. There are no access doors on the bottom and can find no info on dis-assembly so that the memory can be upgraded. I would also like to eventually upgrade to a SSD drive but looks to be almost impossible to get to the hard drive and memory.
Summary: The laptop freezes when it comes out of sleep mode as well as other inopportune moments such as when the fan initiates. If I had it to do all over again, I'd buy a MacBook. You get what you pay for...
Summary: I have one of these laptops, and it's true what they say, you get what you pay for. 1 year 2 months and 13 days. That's how long mine lasted. The display has gone out, so when it's on black is green and grainy almost as though it's an analog display with static. What a disappointment!
Summary: There is a reason Acer costs hundreds less than the competition, they use cheap parts, cheap labor, and low quality. After experiencing frequent BSODs for the graphic card overheating, updating drivers, reformatting nothing worked. Taking it apart and checking the thermal paste job was a shock. The CPU/GPU thermal paste jobs/quality/and material were horrible. Literally dried caked paste everywhere, so hard it wasn't making contact with any of the processors.
Summary: 4 months after I bought this laptop it started to randomly turn off. It continuously overheated and the blue screen started to appear. After time this started to happen more often which made me really mad as I couldn't leave my laptop on the tabled for more than 3 minutes. Additionally the dvd writer doesn't read all of my cd's while other laptops do.
Pros: Quando andava bene
