Excerpt: My daughter is in her third year now at university, we couldn't really afford it, but in time for her going off to university we offered to buy her a new laptop. After considerable research and advice, we opted for this Acer model. We bought it from Tesco online, it cost around £360 at the time, as I recall it was part of a special offer. It was a considerable upgrade at the time from anything we had at home, this lappy was running Windows 7 for a start...
Pros: Well made, good quality - good product
Cons: I can't be sure if the fault was accidental or a fault in the product, but prefer to think not
Summary: Many hours of entertainment was had without any problems or malfunctions, however, just last week it failed to operate having worked perfectly the previous day, all attempts to revive it have failed.
Excerpt: The Acer Aspire 5536g laptop is altogether a good lower end home use laptop with many features that are only usually seen in more expensive models. With 2 AMD Athlon 64 processors the speed is more than enough for any standard laptop user and even more processor hungry programs for example video games. The hardrive capacity of 320gb provides ample space for any music, pictures and films that may be on the laptop at any time.
Summary: Me and my step sisters got 1 of these laptops each due to the constant need with school work. To say the least it is a good laptop, but it needs to be treaeted right. I am proberly the most computer friendly person in my house and it does show. when we got the laptops first i got windows 7 put on instead of vista as I find that vista can be a slow operating system. Also I set up a weekly defragmention and got a suitable anti virus.
Summary: Great laptop for the money, large HD and plenty of memory. I have loaded ALOT of programs, pictures etc onto mine and it still doesn't lack in performance. HD quality graphics and a keyboard that is better than most laptops. The only downside to this machine and also why I didn't give it the full 5 stars is that the battery can start to wear down after about 6 months.
Excerpt: As this is an updated review, there does not seem to be a lot of point in re-reviewing what I have already gone over because technology has caught up with us all and there is far much more exciting computer equipment out there which is smaller, cheaper and better. However, for those of you that want to get a cheap, second hand laptop/notebook, then maybe this is the one for you.
Excerpt: For a sub £500 laptop, this little Acer beauty will impress. I bought one of these recently after looking through all the usuals such as Dell, Compaq and Toshiba and for the money, this one beats the rest hands down. I ended up going to Currys as they had the best deal available - I would recommend getting the 4GB of RAM and then upgrading to Windows 7 64bit as the 32bit version bundles with most laptops only utilises 2GB of memory.
Pros: Fast, light, excellent features, AWESOME value for money
Cons: You need to upgrade to 64bit Windows to utilise the 4GB RAM .
