  • Summary: unfortunately my last laptop broke on my and i was impatient about it and went out and bought the best looking cheap laptop i could find. i knew acer had a good reputation and it looked solid and it was a very good price so i went for this.. but problems started as soon as i turned it on. basicly this comes with windows vista but does NOT have anywhere near high enough hardwear specs to run it. thats the main problem.

A Disaster

  • Summary: This computer is sold with Vista but does not have sufficient hardware to run it properly. It therefore slows down and crashes on regular basis- in fact this is the only thing it does which can be relied on. if you want to use anything which requires more than minimal processing speed, e.g. BBC iPlayer, forget it, as a crash will be almost immediate. Nice screen when it's on, though.

Faulty and can't get it repaired

  • Summary: The mouse pad on my laptop is fauly. I would not be so dissatisfied if I could contact them. I tried to contact them two or three times at Christmas in relation to this problem and they ignored my request. I kept getting a message stating if I did not hear from them within two or three days to resend the querey. I don't see the point in constantly resending my querey as it must be going to an e-mail address that isn't manned.

Acers are not ace.

  • Summary: I've had my Acer for 5 months now. And for the past 4 weeks I haven't been able to charge it properly. That means I had my laptop 4 months before it became faulty. It charges intermittently, it's a very stubborn piece of machinery - just when I need to do some work it doesn't want to charge. Is it the cable? Is it a problem with where you plug it in? God knows. Acer certainly doesn't. Terrible customer services!

  • Summary: have owend two acer laptops from new and they have both crashed ,big time,well within warranty period,great you might think,untill you get to the repairs stage,i waited three months only to be told i was to be given a new one as i had waited so long,six moths down the line the new one packed up,first the charger then the laptop refused{and still does}to switch on.usuall response from acer 'its a software problem'.stay away from acer laptops,they work great for six to...

Laptop Rubbish

  • Summary: Bought Acer Laptop Aspire. It would not connect to Internet as has been previously commented on. Acer no help at all. Kept on blaming my BT Home Hub, Already running Sony Vaio very sucessfully and with ease. Sent machine back to Acer 3 times. No better. In the end got onto BT helpline who disabled most of Acer System Managment and run it through windows. What a waste of money. Vista leaves alot to be desired. Will never buy another Acer product in mylife.

  • Summary: Had problems connecting to the net after a few weeks. Then the screen went white and red and I now have to pay £174 to get it fixed. So much for a warranty, I would avoid it like the plague.

would not download from internet

  • Summary: I have just had a very frustrating time with this product. It would connect to my modem, but would not let me connect to the internet. I spent a lot of money on expensive technical helplines, because Acer told me it must be a software problem- nothing to do with them. The helplines fiddled with the IP address configuration, but could not solve the problem. Eventually 2 friends who are both IT professionals independently spent hours on the thing.

  • Summary: PURCHASED ON 19TH/1/08 RECEVIED ON 22/1/08 WHICH WAS GREAT.LESS THAN TWO WEEKS HAD TO RETURN TO ACER TO HAVE HARD DRIVE REPLACED, RETURNED 1 WEEK LATER NOW CANNOT CONNECT TO WIRELESS BUT ACER DO NOT WANT TO KNOW WIRELESS DEVICE NOT FOUND SO MY ADVICE THINK CAREFULLY WHEN BUYING THIS PRODUCT
