Acer Aspire 3692WLMi Laptop

Simon North, REVIEW STREAM
4 July 2007
  • Excerpt: I have found that laptops are now not as expensive as they were and apparently laptops are been chosen over PCs more and more and I can see why, the portability of a laptop is immense and the Acer Aspire 3692WLMi is no different. I love the look of Acer laptops, they all follow a similar design scheme but it makes them look more expensive than they actually are and they tend to be rather cheaper than similar specification laptops.

Good performance at a good price

  • Excerpt: Firstly I must say I didn't but my Acer laptop - It is a work laptop and I had no choice over the make or model. Having said this I am pretty happy with what I got! The Acer Aspire series, although not the most expensive of the Acer range, provide a reasonable level of performance. The HDD of 100GB is plenty big enough for all my work folders, my personal photo collection from about 30 holidays, my itunes collection and other bits and pieces.

The standard others must now Aspire to

  • Excerpt: "...know, I plumped for an Acer Aspire 3692WLMi Laptop, purchased online through ebuyer (see my review of that website too). LOOKS When it arrived the next day, I gleefully unpacked it and began setting it up. It's a good looking little laptop (it looks as good as the Sony Vaio I'd sometimes borrowed from work) and has a decent screen size (it's widescreen). SCREEN The screen is perhaps a little too reflective - I've tried using outside on ...
  • Pros: Great price, great features and great looks
  • Cons: It doesn't make coffee

  • Excerpt: "I bought this laptop from comet mid november and it is one of the best pieces of equipment i have bought. Even though the casing is quite weak, the look is fantastic and the overall speed of the pc is WOW! That 1gb Ram really does boost the speed and was surely a big change from the pc i used last, which only had 256mb ram and 800mhz celeron processor. The Windows XP Media Centre 2005 Operating System is surely worth the money you pay, and is perfect ...

One of the best things I've ever bought.

  • Excerpt: "I wont bore you with specs and numbers, cos chances are, (if you're anything like me anyway) you still think a RAM is a sheep and GB means Great Britain. But basically, when buying any new computer, the bigger the numbers, the better. As a general comparison, the average iPod/MP3 player nowadays has 30GB of memory, and this has 80GB. May not sound much, but by gosh, it is. After my old desktop died on me, I bought this, and I've been able to shift ...
  • Pros: Its better than my desktop PC !
  • Cons: I haven't found any .  Love it .

  • Excerpt: "I'm not a technical person, so if you want a technical review then this isn't the one for you. I previously had a Toshiba, which I was happy with, but I needed to upgrade the memory and processor, so I decided to buy a new one. I took advantage of the New Year Sale at Comet Online, and got this one. At 1Gb it has more than enough RAM, and I can't see I'll ever need to upgrade that. The HDD is 60 Gb, and even with some of the programmes ...

  • Excerpt: "...my choice down to the Acer Aspire 3692 and had a more in-depth look. The one I was checking out was the Windows Media Centre version - no Office Suite. A put-off for some but a bonus for me. I try to avoid Microsoft products wherever possible. Anyway, I bought the beast (Comet, £399 with special offer HP printer/scanner/photocopier + cable and free photo paper). A good buy. I set up the laptop at home, downloaded and installed Firefox web browser, ...
  • Pros: Plenty of memory (ROM and RAM), fast, excellent screen size and clarity, useful Acer software preloaded .

Excellent Value Budget Laptop

pcpoorlyl..., Ciao

  • Excerpt: "...Poorly Ltd are resellers of Acer and we have always liked them, especially the style and design (or chassis) as they dont look or feel like budget laptops. It is well made, light for its size and thinner than you'd expect. I was also surprised that it had a 5 in 1 card reader and 4 USB ports, as most laptops seem to only have 3 these days! The fact it has 1Gb of RAM needs you shouldn't need to upgrade this as hardly anyone needs more than 1Gb of RAM. ...
