Summary: I bought this computer in November 2010. I wanted something small, but with more power than a netbook has to offer. After much research I came to the Acer aspire 1551 due to the size, features, and price. I have loved this computer since the moment I got it. I use it for streaming video on the internet, word processing, and other light use.
Summary: I bought this notebook here at Amazon and added 4GB of memory and an SSD disk. The result was a very fast and powerful notebook. It is small, good looking, sturdy, has a good display, and the battery last long enough (I haven't performed any duration checks). I do developments using Linux and this notebook is almost perfect for my needs. I run windows and through VMware Player I run my Linux machine.
Summary: I bought this Acer Aspire 1551-5448 (Mesh Black) approximately 10 months ago on Amazon, after returning a smaller, different model Acer netbook at Walmart that had a fan noise issue. I was gambling a little because it would not be as easy to return with Amazon (but Walmart didn't carry this model). I had researched both models online, and decided to go with the bigger screen of the 1551.
Summary: I've been using this netbook for about a month now and it's lived up to my expectations. I chose the Acer AS1551-4560 over the ASUS Eee PC 1015PEM-PU17-BK 10.1-Inch Netbook (Black) and also over this one: ASUS Eee PC Seashell 1215N-PU17-SL 12.1-Inch Netbook (Silver) . I chose it because of the faster processor as I would be using it as my main laptop for mainly internet, office applications, and some iTunes.
Summary: This computer is no longer available, BUT anyway---I was replacing a cumbersome 15.6" laptop I had for about 5 years. I wanted something small, but with more power than a netbook has to offer. After much research I came to the Acer aspire 1551-4650 due to the size, features, and phenomenal price I got. Ended up buying an additional 2GB of memory for less than $25. Never have I experienced any problems with it.
Summary: Recently, I purchased this little notebook for my freelance business and writing. It had everything I was looking for and was absolutely perfect for me. It's netbook sized with notebook power. Its specs are good enough for what I'm going to use it for (I have a desktop I use for a heavier workload and gaming). It comes with Windows Home Premium (which is good enough for me; I normally use Linux on my home machine but needed windows for the office suite for work).
Great Performance/Price ratio! Don't hesitate to buy one if under $400!

Summary: I got this laptop days ago and I'm REALLY satisfied with what I bought. I got this with $372.99 (shipment excluded), while days later (now) I found that they all rose to over $400! After the detail review you'll see why this thing is really great - with this price. Let's also do it in an old-fashioned way. Let me list pro's and con's: Pro's: 1) Thin, light, and easy to carry.
Summary: This product is an extremely reasonably priced laptop computer. Because of its size, it could be considered a netbook, but the specs on this computer make it one of the most powerful netbooks available. Also, the screen resolution goes beyond 720p (1366x768) while most netbooks have the awkward 1024x600 screen resolution.
Summary: Sure, it has just a 11.6" display.....but, for me, this machine is much more than a netbook. The design is efficient and the build quality is tight. It feels good in your hand.....thin, solid with just the right amount of weight. (Hey...everything could be lighter, right?) The dual core cpu handles all your applications. The keyboard is a nice step up from the tiny 10 inch netbooks and the key travel is perfect. The display is gorgeous. The webcam is better than average.
