Summary: I really like the Aspire. It is lightweight, compact, and easy to use. I was looking for a Windows 7 or higher machine to keep in reserve if Windows XP ever stops working. I especially like the outlet to plug in a big screen TV.
Summary: I love this netbook. it came with windows Vista, however it had a free upgrade to Windows 7. one draw back is that it comes with lots of junk installed with takes memory and about 10 Gig of hard drive. Instead of upgrade to Windows 7, I did a clean install of windows 7. Now it runs a lot faster, takes less memory and I reclaimed a lot of disk space. Installation is easy and Windows 7 automatically discovers all devices and drivers. Clean install is way to go.
Summary: This Acer Aspire 1410 computer is perfect for us at ages 58 and 60. We had our son-in-law pick out something simple, wireless, and reasonably priced. He did an outstanding job. First of all, he went to the customer reviews...which we had never thought about. He studied all the customer reviews from the various companies. After considerable study, he selected this one for us. It is a pleasant surprise. The tech support is excellent, too.
Summary: Starts promptly, excellent screen definition makes it easier to view text and images on the small screen. Highly portable. I use this at work on battery power and get over 6hrs before even worrying about it. Seems to work just as competently as any other computer I've owned.

Summary: This "mini-laptop" has worked flawlessly from the minute I turned it on and began configuring/loading software on it. The 11.6-in. display is terrific - extremely sharp (text/graphics) and renders colors beautifully. In addition, the laptop is well made with a solid casing and a high-gloss blue lid. The lack of an internal CD/DVD drive is no problem at all.
Summary: The laptop is exactly what my wife wanted. The screen is crisp and bright, and the slightly smaller keyboard is not an issue for her since she also has smaller hands. I find it comfortable to use for casual browsing, but haven't done any significant typing to judge. We did have one problem with the laptop. About 9 days after receiving the laptop, it died. No POST screen. The power LED would turn on then nothing.
Summary: Had been looking for a netbook/smaller notebook to use at school to do powerpoint presentations as well as travel with. Netbooks seemed a little too small then I saw the 11.6 notebooks. After much searching and comparing I decided on the Acer1410. (A colleague has the Gateway 11.6) I was looking for 2G ram, 250G HD, a faster processor and good battery life. Got it all with the Acer 1410.
Small, lightweight package with none of the netbook limitations

Summary: Having used a variety of laptops, from the Apple MacBook Pro MC118LL/A 15.4-Inch Laptop , to a 10" netbook, the Acer AS1410 has quite a few things going for it. Pros: 1) (Mostly) Full-sized keyboard. Still getting used to it, but it's not a challenge like smaller keyboards. 2) Processor. While it's not the 3Ghz processor I'm used to in my desktop, it beats the heck off of netbooks which were sold in early-mid 2009. 3) Screen-size and resolution.
Summary: Great little mini-notebook that's better than my netbook. I wish this product had been available back when I bought my netbook. With the Acer Aspire AS1410 I don't need a netbook. Faster processor, more memory, larger hard drive and 11.6" monitor. The new models with a dual-core processor should be even better.
