Summary: I've had this computer for... oh I don't know. Sometime early 2012, I'm guessing. So about two years. And it has been absolutely fantastic. I do a lot of maintenance on it, I just like my computer to be as fast as possible. So if you don't, you may not have the same results. But as I've been using it, it's perfect. Handles games well enough for me.
Summary: Purchased refurbished model for $320. Arrived relatively quickly and all parts intact and looked new. The laptop barely fits into my backpack, but I desired a large screen laptop. Resolution is nice and performance is decent. So far, the only software that crashes is Skype, and I don't know if it's due to McAfee or bloatware. Battery lasts well over 2 hours and I will be sure to exercise it regularly and monitor. The real test with Acer laptops are longevity/durability.
Summary: I've had no problems out of this computer so far! The Radeon Graphics are excellent and I from what I've read this computer is an excellent gaming machine! I also have A HP Laptop but I prefer using this one more! The screen is the perfect size because I like big Gigantic Screens...LOL! It's very clear with a beautiful picture and I would say that the battery life is fairly decent. I would sure recommend this computer!
Good but i dont know what the quad core is optimized for over fast i3 or i5

Summary: This is light weight but at the expense of durability. Room for two hard drives which is a deal breaker for me, i have one SSD for boot and one for data. Windows 7 experience index are all above 6, with cpu being 6.8, but this cpu is not designed for graphic intense applications, it scored really low on cinebench 11.5. So in the end, i dont know what application the quad core amd will take advantage, but it is quad core and it is light and the glossy screen is good.
Summary: I like this computer. (I agree that their customer service stinks.) The screen is bright and clear. The battery lasts a relatively long time. It does everything I ask it to, except one thing: stay plugged in. The stupid plug comes out of the machine if you cough on the other side of the room. It just falls out.
Worst Customer Service and Website I have encountered.

Summary: Let me start by saying that my rating reflects more on the lack of desent suppot and customer service that on the machine. I have had this notbook for about a week and have had problems gettint to customer service for assistance. When I did get through they were/are useless. They cannot, it seems answer more that a simple question and then with useless request for additionl information.
Summary: We needed a "moveable" computer for use at home. This 17" Acer is HUGE; nothing you'd want to carry around regularly, but it's perfect for what we wanted. The display is big, bright and crisp with intense colors. It actually looks better than the Samsung 19" monitor connected to my desktop. I opted for the refurb version.
Decent budget 17" for 2014, shoddy keyboard design

Summary: I purchased a refurbished version of this model about a week ago, and I'm fairly pleased with it so far for a budget laptop. It seems to be Acer's Big Mac as opposed to, say, an Asus filet mignon, but it gets the job done if you're on a budget like I am. My only issues with this device so far are that the screen dims and brightens randomly and in a flickering fashion, and the keyboard is very cheaply made.
Summary: I bought this laptop refurbed a while back and I have never regretted it. Most bloatware has been removed from a refurb model. I put a good antivirus software and it works soo well. Loads quick, great webcam, plays Sims3 with add-ons very well. Love windows 7 os and the price for what you get is very fair. The only complaint would be the weight!
