Essential but expensive extra for a travelling Mac

Summary: This is a typically elegant Apple take on a standard part. This thin, light weight battery has LED lights showing the charging status even though the Mac OS also has a very informative indicator of charging time remaining on the top right menu bar.
Summary: I bought this product, charged it a couple of times, let it go flat while the computer was in sleep mode only to try and start charging it again but to no result. Took it to a retailer who spotted something strange with the battery, then proceeded to tell me it was fake.
Summary: Bought this after months of surviving with my Macbook always plugged in because I thought the Apple prices for a replacement battery were just too steep. Stumbled across this battery for half price, and after reading all the positive reviews I took the plunge.
Summary: Battery arrived in good condition - clearly brand new and with protective cover on. The battery was about 75% charged, which is nice. Shows 1 cycle and 98% health. Appears to be a real Apple battery, too.
long-lasting battery worth the price over cheaper substitutes

Summary: I considered buying a cheaper "no brand" battery at 1/3 the price of this one but after reading the reviews I thought I wouldn't be saving anything in the long run. I bought my Macbook in April 2007 so the laptop is nearly 5 years old, the original battery was showing 734 cycles and holding 35-50%...
Summary: After my Macbook battery dying, I was looking at universal batteries that were cheaper, although they didn't seem to fit correctly when inserted or lasted as long. I felt by buying this I would get a Genuine Apple product for half the price, but it seems that it is not.
