Great for Awhile, but then Watch Out!

Pam, FutureShop

  • Summary: I have gone through a few of these. I find that they last about 3 months and then you need to replace them. If we used them simply for charging, I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem. However, our IPad and IPod are used regularly by multiple people, so the batteries simply don't last and we have to use our devices while charging. Cords are often held at an angle and start buckling where it connects to the port.

Poor quality for an Apple product

Greg, FutureShop
12 February 2014
  • Summary: Apple cables do not live up to the standard that Apple has promoted for itself with other products. I have gone through a few Apple cables and they all start to literally fall apart after only a few months use. The outer coating actually cracks up and falls off. Rocketfish makes 'clone' cables that are far more durable and yet cheaper.

OEM Cable

Artur, FutureShop
1 February 2014
  • Summary: Not much to say here, good reliable cable. I also agree with the fray cable and they could have designed it better but when you treat it right and plug / unplug it with care and hold it but it's intended spot these cable will outlive your phone.

A cable that does what it should

Sandro, FutureShop
26 January 2014
  • Summary: Apple delivers great quality and even their cables such as this one works as it should. It fits in your apple device securely and plugs into a standard USB jack such as on your computer or the wall adapter provided by Apple too. A must buy for those who require an extra cable for their Apple devices.

Needs improvement

Katelyn, FutureShop

  • Summary: Apple chargers have always been iffy. I've had other phones that weren't apple before and the chargers lasted a lot longer. My cat loves to chew on cords, so if I leave my house and forget to hide this charger, he chews right through it. Meanwhile, he's chewed every other cord and nothing happened. I've gone through so many of these, and the price isn't bad but they should be much more durable!

Iphone 5 cable

Ron, FutureShop

  • Summary: I love apple products but these cords are terible and do not do the products they support justice. They are overpriced and the quality is sadly lacking. The ends always fray near the wire and USB plug.

Decent Cable

Homer, FutureShop
22 October 2013
  • Summary: It's a decent cable. Kind of pricey compared to the $3 knock offs. However, quality is much better. If it fails for whatever reason, take it to an apple store for a free replacement.

Quality cable

Ben, FutureShop
22 September 2013
  • Summary: My original cable lasted about a year... It gets used A LOT.. Ended up trying to save some cash so I bought a couple knock offs.... Bad idea, they lasted a week. The ends just pull off. I feel is still a bit over priced. But learned to never buy cheap cables again!

Bad Connection

Jaclyn Barnes, FutureShop
17 June 2013
  • Summary: These cords are good and I like that Apple came out with a new cord for the IPhone 5, but after a couple months, (if you are not careful) the cord can start to have a bad connection. For my phone to charge, i have to wiggle it around to get the right spot and set something under the cord near the connection for it to actually stay. To keep your cord in good condition i recommend not using your phone too much when its plugged in.
