Summary: If Trendnet solved the problems it could be a popular product because there are few DVI and PS/2 alternatives.
Pros: Worked well when first received and cable set of good quality.
Cons: This unit worked well for a few months before things started to go bad. On occasion the unit 'locked' up, and to free it there had to be four computers powered on. Once it starts working again it will go for days, even weeks with only one or two powered on before the problem recurs. The reason th...
Summary: Trendnet customer support is very poor. They made 3 different promises by three different people to call me back and never did. I spent lots of time in their voicemail hell trying to get through to people and when I did all but one of the several I talked to tried to pass the buck or have me wait...
Pros: None. Do not buy
Cons: This is my second review of this product. I returned the first one because the video was not working properly, the replacement unit did the same thing. I spent lots of time on the phone to tech support and they were not able to help. I am returning this to get a different make and model
Summary: When it locks up it is only on my 64 bit machine. I get an error logged. Could not set the mouse sample rate. It is a system error event 22 i8042prt. I contacted tech support and they dont have a clue. So when I lock up I just reboot.
Summary: would have been nice if they had included USB ports as well (hint hint, ports as in plural). Also I love my wife and kids
Pros: If I get a working one it seems it will be a nice unit
Cons: When I switch from one computer to another the keyboard, mouse and audio will switch but the video goes blank, I'm obviously the unit I got is bad, so now I'm out S&H money to send this back for a replacement, if the next one is bad I'll get a refund and buy another make/model, will write another...
Summary: DVI KVM's are very new, so I hope I can find one that works. I am in search of a replacement....
Pros: I upgraded from VGA to DVI and needed a good KVM. After reading all the horror stories about most of the DVI KVM's I chose TrendNet because they have a solid reputation on all the other gear I have.
Cons: This switch locks up when you boot a computer not selected, when you move the mouse during boot and also internmitantly. I have followed the instructions to use the Hotkeys and it just locks up where you have to power every computer off and unplug the KVM or disconnect everything just to free it ...
Summary: I bought a TK-404KR and a TK-403KR. This gives me 4 stereo audio pairs to switch and two monitors on four computers. I feed mic and FR/FL into the DVI KVM, and RR/RL and C/SW into the VGA KVM. I use a pair of keyboards with a pair of mice in front of a pair of 1600x1200 flat panel monitors.
Pros: DVI, audio, PS/2. Very nice. Seldom get locked up.
Summary: Don't do what I did and ignore the few bad reviews these switchs get. It's useless, if your still thinking of buying this switch, just throw your money in the trash and save yourself the headache.
Pros: 4 DVI connections, other than that it's your average KVM switch.
Cons: It locks up constantly, even with the power adapter. No way to reset the switch after lock up only thing you can do is restart your computer. I'm using it with a basic PnP keyboard and MS Explorer mouse, nothing special to blame for the problems.
