Summary: I'm in the process of returning the second switch. I could not get a keyboard working on either one in the keyboard port, but all the keyboards I tried WOULD manage the switch. On one I managed to nurse the USB hub to function and could get the keyboard working if it was plugged into a hub port, on the other the hub simply would not respond.
Summary: I've had nothing but problems with this KVM switch. The first one I received had scratchy/distorted audio, and Startech replaced the unit for me. The second one also had the scratchy/distorted audio issue as well, in addition to a new problem: the devices plugged into the back of the KVM switch over USB randomly stop working on both computers at random intervals (it's not a computer issue) until I restart the affected computer.
I would give less than 1 star on this paperweight...

Summary: This product is great for the month and a half it actually works. At first one peripheral device plugged into the StarTech device stops working a little after a month and a half passes. Then eventually all of the USB ports stop working! What a hunk of junk. Thanks Amazon for your amazing quality control (sarcasm, obviously)... I will be much more cautious in trusting anything sold directly by Amazon after this purchase.
Summary: While using this device my display from my laptop constantly flickers (doesn't do this when directly connected to the monitor.) Also, whenever you switch from one machine to the other the resolution on the machine that isn't being used appears to reset to 640*480, so when you switch back all your windows are resized and moved to the top left corner of the screen. Very disappointing.
Work flawlessly at WQHD resolutions-be beware if you have an XP box...

Summary: I am using this switcher between my main Wintel desktop (A Intel Boxed Desktop Board BOXDZ68DB Media Series Socket LGA1155 ATX Motherboard ) and my XP-running laptop. This is one of the first switchers I have used where I did not have to unplug and replug the USB to get the keyboard to be recognized. Its ability to also switch two additional USB ports between the boxes is a big plus. The unit appears very well constructed.
