Summary: This switch seems to work very well with my older Macs, both of which run earlier versions of OSX (10.3 and 10.5). The only caveat that I can find is that the switch will not turn or power on either of my machines, yet will power off whichever one is displayed through the monitor. Odd, that, since one would expect that it should either be able to do both or neither.
Summary: Works great. Just plugged the computers and peripherals in and all worked from the get go. Even my printer flips between the two computers. Definitely worth it for my needs. I want to keep running some XP software on my old computer while the new computer is for browsing, etc. I can switch between the two computers seamlessly.
Great switch, worth the extra money over the cheaper plastic ones

Summary: Needed a good switch because of work changes and needing to put my office at home. I wanted to do remote desktop to control my work laptop with my desktop, but that won't work with my work's VPN. Friend told me about a KVM switch, so I started looking around. Sure, I could have got a cheaper one, but this one is built like a rock, all metal, solid construction. I'm surprised it doesn't cost more.
Summary: I have owned this for a month or so now, and I have not had a single glitch with it yet. The switch I used to own would make the screen flicker and so on, but nothing like that has happened with this product. It's a little more expensive, but now it actually works.
Summary: This has provided the space savings and reliability needed where multiple devices can share. As an IT Consultant I have used several types of KVM equipment and found this brand and type to be the best for my uses.
Summary: This was just what I needed. It works as described, giving you access to two computers through one monitor. I have not tried to use a printer for both since I can set up the printer through a wireless means. Would I buy it again, in a heartbeat.
Summary: I researched all around for a way to use one mouse and one keyboard to effectively work on both computers on my desk. I have an HP with Windows 8.1 and an iMac with Lion. The HP mouse and keyboard that came with my HP desktop works as effectively on the Apple product as well as the PC. I was told the switch couldn't accommodate both because of software differences, baloney. The StarTech.com KVM Switch, SV231USB solved my space problems quite nicely.
