Not a Permanent Solution

Linkskey and Trendnet Uni, TigerDirect.com
9 November 2012
  • Summary: Installed this unit in Feb-2012, and worked fine. Picture quality was spot on, at 1024x768, keyboard and mouse functioned perfectly. Had a failure with the receiver unit less than 3 months later. Replaced by RMA. 2nd unit ran 6 months, and failed again. Will not buy this product again.

does exactly what it says it does

bikebandit,, TigerDirect.com

  • Summary: easy install, clear instructions although you probably won't need them. I used it to access a Q-see camera system from two locations about 100 meters apart so no keyboard just mouse and video but it works perfect no latency on the video or mouse at all just FYI I used cat6

Works well

Matthew C., Newegg
12 April 2012
  • Summary: Very pleased with how well it worked. I work for a nonprofit and have a tight budget. Reordered a new one to replace the lightning damaged one.
  • Pros: Affordable, good distance, good resolution (but no 1080p), lasted 3 years until lightning strike killed it.
  • Cons: Doesn't handle 1080p. Cannot handle lightning strike :) (not much can)

Worked for 5 months

Dave H., Newegg
30 March 2012
  • Summary: 20 year IT Director, I've seen lots of these die over time - If you get a good unit then it's well worth the gamble. Will try a return with manufacturer.
  • Pros: Perfect and inexpensive while it lasted
  • Cons: 5 months in it went "fuzzy" with no hope of clearing it up. Power Supply tested OK with no load on it, so it appears a component in one of the units went bad.

Pleasantly surprised with quality

Anatoli, TigerDirect.com
11 October 2010
  • Summary: Set this up between a server box and a TV approx 65 ft apart using existing wall wiring, expecting lowest quality or no picture. Was actually pleasantly surprised with a sharp picture quality at that distance and number of cables involved.

It Works

Chester W., Newegg
12 October 2009
  • Summary: Never heard of this brand but so far they are on my good side.
  • Pros: Works out of the box. "AFTER" reading all the directions I hooked up all the cables the computer turns on and works without a hitch. I had and 10 year old KVM extender fail on me at work and this one was the appropriate replacement. Cost was a huge plus as well.
  • Cons: None so far.

Alan M., Newegg
30 March 2009
  • Pros: Simple install, really nothing to go wrong. I have used several diff brands over the years and this one is just fine. Don't pay any more than you have to.
