Excellent bang for the buck, Linux friendly

  • Pros: Great KVM, although rarely used and just for access to console on Linux servers that lack ability to do that over serial. Bios access, boot loader, viewing kernel panics, console/shell, etc. Although can be used for graphical purposes just the same. Performance is excellent for my uses, can't comment on graphical applications. Java client viewer allows for access on any Java enabled device with sufficient version of Java and resources. Software runs without issue via ...
  • Cons: Remote viewer software must be fetched from unit. I believe via https, and you get odd results without https. I ended up getting the KViewer.jar (Java viewer/remote client software) from some third party site online. Wasn't even available via manufacturers site, but that might a have changed. Also buttons on front panel aren't secured to well. But who is touching the device :) It's for remote use, so that's pretty moot. As long as they don't fall into unit. Almost had...

  • Pros: Reliable KVM switch for pro environment for small/medium business network as well for data center. Support both PS2 and USB connections. EZ recognize active server/computer.
  • Cons: Working perfect from local or/and remote locations. Recommend for IT professionals. Planning to buy more and set as stackable into our new datacenter.
