Great Product: it did what it needs to do

Gordon P., Newegg
13 December 2014
  • Pros: Good Product: Cable layout on back is excellent. I will be looking through there products for future purchases. It was a completely pleasant surprise, cables while not top end were not bad at all. No distortions or screen lags on both a new and older Samsung model LCD Displays.
  • Cons: Nothing other than maybe the cables could have been longer.

Great KVM but Died in 3 Weeks

James B., Newegg
7 October 2014
  • Summary: This is a great KVM switch, particularly for the price, which isn't cheap but a good value for the money. But if it breaks and you are over NewEgg's 30-day return limit, they don't respond to RMA requests and you're stuck.
  • Pros: Great KVM switch, uses conventional tap-tap-number to switch computers, includes sound and USB 1.1 switching, works with PS/2 computers
  • Cons: Died at 3 weeks. The USB went bad and took keyboard for PS/2 Linux machine and both for new MB with USB inputs with it; brought down new computer including BIOS. With major effort involving booting with a direct-connect keyboard and going into the BIOS, then booting a Windows rescue disk and doin...

does the job

John S., Newegg
3 September 2014
  • Summary: I use a separate usb switch for my hub for USB 2.0. I don't use the audio cable but instead use a USB external sound card.
  • Pros: Works great with vga monitor switching between Win XP and Win 7. I use it only for video. As long as resolution is not too high.
  • Cons: Runs on USB !.1 have to use a ps/2 keyboard to use the commands on the switch.

Solid KVM Switch

Wesley D., Newegg
19 November 2013
  • Pros: Connected right up and worked right out of the box. I did not use any of the USB ports, so I cannot attest to how they worked, but everything else went right together and worked fine.
  • Cons: I would have rather had the PS/2 ports on the back of the unit, but that is just a result of how my peripherals are arranged. Having them on the front might be preferred for the next guy.

Excellent, versatile KVM

JEFFREY R., Newegg
9 August 2013
  • Summary: I was dubious about the claims made for this KVM, and couldn't understand how it could live up to them. For instance, the cable connecting the KVM to a computer has only a VGA plug on the KVM end, with VGA and two PS/2 plugs on the other.
  • Pros: Works as advertised. Connects diverse computers with a mix of USB and PS/2 ports and devices (PC and Mac) without any issues. All cables provided. Optionally powered USB hub feature works extremely well. Physical and virtual switching via hotkeys works well. Highly recommended.
  • Cons: The manual is barely adequate, and the translations, although better than average, are still not great. As a result, getting it working the way I wanted took a bit of fiddling.

Jim B., Newegg
17 April 2013
  • Summary: FYI, I really don't use the audio function
  • Pros: I only use the PS2 Function, I have owned for 3+ years. It is still working with daily use on repair benches. Vigorous daily use. I am buying a second one because I damaged one of the cables. Very reliable.
  • Cons: None

Didn't work for me!

Rickey T., Newegg
24 April 2012
  • Summary: Might work for someone else, but didn't work for me.
  • Pros: Keyboard, mouse & sound work great.
  • Cons: Will not pick up monitor. One computer would only give me a basic resolution. Another computer would not even pick up my monitor at all. This monitor and computer combos worked great on my Startech kvm, but will not work on this one. I RMA'd and tried another switch and got the same results. Retu...

Hot-Key Support Misleading

Angelo M., Newegg
17 December 2011
  • Summary: Again, not a bad KVM overall. Had the specs indicated hotkey support was for PS/2 only, I may have looked at a different switch. Luckily, I had one laying around and could use it to lock the synchronization of the monitor/USB switching which can only be done with the hotkeys.
  • Pros: Overall it's a solid device. While I don't use it, I could see the benefit of independent USB/Monitor switching. Comes with the cables which is a plus and they are long enough for my needs. A bit pricey but I guess supply/demand is more a driver for this.
  • Cons: There is NO hotkey support unless you are using PS/2 keyboard. Who has those any longer and why was that not indicated in the details/specs?

Port 1 defective

Jim B., Newegg
26 February 2010
  • Pros: Nice unit. I have a customer who uses it and likes it. I purchased it to replace another KVM.
  • Cons: One of the KVM ports is defective (checked cable, but port is bad). Very inconvenient! I guess I will drag out the old KVM one more time....
