Don't get it if you have mac with Thunderbolt

Luis S., Newegg
22 May 2015
  • Summary: Had I known that I would have bough a different brand
  • Pros: Works fine if you are connecting 2 window PCs
  • Cons: Does not work with new MacBooks. If you have a newer macbook pro don't get it. I just purchased a new Mac Book Pro, I purchased the thuderport adapter to vga and hooked it up. The screen does not show correctly. When connecting the computer directly to the monitor it displays just fine. I called ...

Iogear KVM switch

Anthony C., Newegg
11 March 2015
  • Summary: This KVM switch was not at all what I was expecting. I am very dissatisfied with this product, and am unable to use it as when I hooked it up, I immediately got wavy lines across my monitor. I am going to return this product for a refund.
  • Pros: Easy to setup
  • Cons: Device produced wavy lines across monitor after installing

You need seperate keyboard and mouse inputs

David G., Newegg
15 November 2014
  • Summary: I need to look for a better KVM. This one doesn't cut it. I haven't reviewed the item completely so I don't know if it warned about this ahead of time. It may be my fault.
  • Pros: It works, somewhat
  • Cons: You cannot use a wireless mouse and keyboard combo that uses the same receiver for both the mouse and keyboard. If you plug the receiver into the mouse port on the KVM, the mouse works, but the hotkeys don't, so that isn't functional. If you plug the receiver into the keyboard USB port on the KVM...

Small Home Office Setup

Kodetech, Newegg
27 March 2014
  • Summary: None
  • Pros: Does what it's suppose to do. I have it hooked up between an XP computer and a Windows 7 computer. Purchased these specifically for the handling of Windows 7. Keyboard, mouse and sound work fine, no complaints there.
  • Cons: Since purchasing this back in Nov. of 2013 I'm having constant irritable frustrating problem of the screen going blank for a few seconds whether it's connected to the XP computer or Windows 7. I contacted support and followed their advice but, nothing they suggested corrected this problem. I real...

No Physical Selection

Robert G., Newegg
15 November 2013
  • Summary: Don't get me wrong, I think it's a neat idea, but a physical switch is far better than the onboard controllers linking with your mouse/keyboard to switch between machines.
  • Pros: Easy to set up.
  • Cons: There's no physical selection button, the documentation on IOGear's site is poor and it doesn't seem to work with a Microsoft Sidewinder X4 keyboard, even with the Sidewinder X4 drivers installed (which are garbage to begin with). I'll be buying a physical switch next time.

Follow Up

Bruce H., Newegg
18 October 2013
  • Summary: Overall, I'm not very happy with this.
  • Pros: Switches fast
  • Cons: I am finding it picks up interference in the electrical line very easily. For instance, if any appliance is on, my screen flickers. Also- I keep having to reset one of the two computers- monitor resolution to the default. It keeps wanting to kick down to 1024x768. Doesn't allow for Microsoft wire...

User Review

Manx3, Walmart
6 April 2013
  • Summary: Nice KVM switch but it doesn't work with my CRT. It does work with LCD monitor. I didn't try the audio. Contacted IOGEAR Tech Support. They are friendly but seem to have limited knowledge of their products.

Not the best product for the job

greg B., Newegg
3 October 2012
  • Summary: The screen going dark is enough for me too poorly rate this product. I would look for an alternative product.
  • Pros: It does switch between inputs consistently.
  • Cons: the Screen goes dark periodically for a couple of seconds and then returns. It must be sensing for the other input. This is very annoying. Second you must have a separate keyboard and mouse usb plug. You cannot use a shared keyboard/mouse usb cord or dongle, something must be plugged into the key...

Woks well

,, TigerDirect.com
4 August 2012
  • Summary: Did have to downgrade my mouse to a regular usb scroll but is exactly what I wanted from it. Offers keyboard key for switching rather than a remote connected to kvm which is a spacesaver to say the least. Would buy it again if needed.
