  • Summary: NewEgg were very helpful after I explained the issues and send me a RMA. This waiting however for the replacement.
  • Pros: This is good KMV switch for when you don't want / or have a lot of space available.
  • Cons: Unfortunately I received this IOGEAR with defective cables. I opened the package to discover that the cables' plastic shielding were melted together and that the inside of the packaging had burn score marks. It almost appear that the IOGEAR was store in a hot! warehouse and that the rubber shield...

malfunctioning - returned

SmallFry, Amazon
17 January 2014
  • Summary: This is the 2nd one of the KVM switch that I purchased, the same brand. The 1st one I had worked fine for about a year and half then all of a sudden when switching back and forth between my two desktops (as I had done many times prior) my wireless adapter would fail, my mouse and keyboard would no...

Junk.

Justin W., Newegg

  • Pros: Would be a great product -- if it could be counted on.
  • Cons: I'm on NewEgg to look into replacing this because after approximately 10 months of ownership, it's dead.

Cheap and buggy

Stefan Morris, Amazon

  • Summary: Pros: The single USB port for both the mouse and keyboard is a nice feature. The keyboard based hot key switching works well. Cons: * The VGA signal is noticeably degraded when using this device. * It does not support higher refresh rates in higher resolutions.

If you plan to use wireless mouse or keyboard chose another KVM

lzubiate, Amazon
27 June 2013
  • Summary: I work from home and I have a Work laptop and a home one; so I needed a KVM to work on both computers in the same desk without too much clutter. I bought this one for the brand and the price and the ability to swithc computers with the press of a key on my keyboard. Great Idea.

  • Summary: Nice KVM switch but it doesn't work with my CRT. It does work with LCD monitor. I didn't try the audio. Contacted IOGEAR Tech Support. They are friendly but seem to have limited knowledge of their products.

less function, more frustration

Lance K., Newegg
14 March 2013
  • Summary: I bought this at a local computer center to replace a buggy 7yo Belkin KVM. Turns out the buggy belkin functioned better over all. I dual boot between win7 and linux mint on my main system and have a 9yo pentium 4 IBM with XP isolated from the network that drives a CNC machine.
  • Pros: It works once either of the computers' OS's starts. Microsoft wirelss mouse worked. I guess they tried?
  • Cons: Does not show boot screen, or boot loader. Useless for dual boot systems, or systems requiring bios adjustment. Wired keyboard would sometimes work, sometimes not.

unreliable, overpriced and effectively Useless!

11 February 2013
  • Summary: Simple hard channeled KVM switches that definitively switch from one device to the other(s) is FAR superior as well as a breath of fresh air after ever dealing with these little scroll lock switching cable options. DO NOT choose this solution if you are running devices you rely on.
  • Pros: I can think of nothing "pro" given my experience with all the product line of these KVM switches by Iogear.
  • Cons: I have had so many instances of this device failing that I frankly am not motivated to list considering the many hours and perhaps days this has provided frustration as well as wasted our / my time. This has affected production servers negaticely in many situations that early on have even forced ...

DOES NOT WORK WITH WIRELESS USB KEYBOARDS

squeept.com, Newegg
4 January 2013
  • Pros: Works fine if you have the correct hardware.
  • Cons: Manufacturer information does not state that the hotkeys to switch between computers do NOT work with a wireless keyboard setup. There is no manual switch to alleviate the issue. Googling the problem shows endless pages of results of people complaining about the same problem. RMA + return shippin...

Junk

Shane M., Newegg
28 November 2012
  • Summary: In my opinion this switch is poorly made, and the quality control is shoddy at best.
  • Pros: Good while they work.
  • Cons: These switches seem to have a very short lifespan. Our company was using them for a while, so I decided to give one a whirl at home. OOPS! The company I work for started having the same issues I had with mine in less than one year. The mouse or Keyboard will decide to quit working at random, and ...
