Does the Job

Patrick D., Newegg

  • Summary: I really use a small fraction of the features on this KVM. I haven't tried configuring the OSD or user login features yet.
  • Pros: Works as designed for the most part. Buying the kit version with cables for all the ports and rack mount brackets was significantly cheaper than buying Dell's KVM option for their 24U rack.
  • Cons: I had to reset it once because my mouse stopped working and some keystrokes were dropping, but I was using a PS/2 mouse and keyboard attached to a PS/2 to USB adapter plugged into the KVM's keyboard port at the time.

not so hot

Bob C., Newegg

  • Summary: Fails with Win XP, Linux, FreeBSD, Mac OS-X 10.6. Fails with Nvidia, ATI, Intel, and other video cards. Fails with multiple monitors. Monitor size makes no differance, resolution is the issue. Same combinations of software, cards, monitors, and resolution work fine with *many* Iogear KVM's.
  • Pros: Uses Iogear cables
  • Cons: Fails randomly with high resolution video inputs. Iogear tech support is no help. Avoid if your plans include a monitor larger than 20 inches (per Iogear). Avoid if you want modern (above 800x600) resolution.
