Summary: I bought this item so that I could use one monitor with a new computer. I tried all combinations in setting up the D-Link but it did not switch the monitor from one computer to the other. The light on the D-Link for both the switch and the hot keys, when switching from one computer to the other, only flashed and reverted to one computer - my old computer.
Summary: Combined with a Lindy USB PS2 Converter, this is working brilliantly. Easy to install, and has the added bonus that as we are using the PS2 mouse and keyboard connections, we use the USB for our printer. Only drawback - don't seem to be able to get 1440x900 pixels when using Windows XP, no problem with Windows 7.
Summary: Overall package and price of the product is satisfactory. However, I have a Dell 6430 laptop and a desktop computer with a 23" Samsung LCD monitor and I could not get the Dell laptop (only 2 months old) to display correctly on the monitor i.e. when connected via the D-Link KVM I could not get it to use 1920x1080 resolution which fits the screen perfectly.
Summary: A complete waste of time, money and effort on my part. It simply does not work and does not rate even one star. If I had the time I would put it up for sale, but then feel very guilty about selling something under false pretences.
Summary: I'm rating this bit of kit quite highly for something that doesn't really work as I wanted. Sure, set-up is easy if a little cluttered. The cables supplied are rather thick and unco-operative, but hey-ho, it's only going to ge down among the 'dust bunnies' behind the computer eh? Well if the 'hot-key' switching worked, that's where it could be left out of sight and out of mind.
Summary: Nice Little Package. Picked This Item, So As To To Be Able To Use My Logitech Wireless USB Keyboard/Mouse Hub Between Two Towers. Connect The KVM Up, Connected USB Hub - KVM Failed To Respond Tried Changing The Drivers. - FAILED Tried Microsoft USB Mouse Into The KVM.- FAILED Tried a Trust USB Mouse Into The KVM.- FAILED If This USB Connection Is Possible, Could Someone Suggest What Keyboard/Mouse Is Likely To Work.
Summary: I agrea with all the posotive feedback, but i find it 2 small 2 light and moves about thus some the keyboard mouse conection can work lose, other than its good, only chaged to a 4 port and i now have 3 pc and a lap top.
Summary: Keyboard, Monitor and mouse switch Did not work for USB keyboard and mouse. Clearly meant for old style PS-2 connections. There is one USB slot, and despite buying a USB hub so that both keyboard and mouse could connect in, I was unable to get this switch to switch.
Summary: Prompt delivery, hassle free service. The device looks very robust and works flawlessly. It makes a huge difference when migrating data and software to a new PC. Each time you press the special keyboard shortcuts (scroll-lock twice + a key) or the button on the device to switch between PCs it makes laud-ish beeps which can't be turned off and some people may find annoying (not me though). I didn't need any additional components at all. It just worked out of the box.
Summary: This does exactly what I require of it. Using PS2 keyboard and mouse I linked the USB port on the switch to a hub which faultlessly provides access for both computers to two printers and an external hard drive. I need this setup to support working from home now I am semi-retired so I have access to our home PC and my work laptop on its docking station. There are no audio connections on the switch but I don't need them.
