Junk - Loses It's Mind and You Have to Reboot

MICHAEL S., Newegg
3 March 2011
  • Pros: Nice features with video and audio
  • Cons: It's junk. It loses it's mind and switches back and forth (lights flash on the little switch) and you'll have to reboot. Always at the worst time... Tested with Windows 7 and Windows 2003.

Nice KVM

Kenneth P., Newegg
20 May 2010
  • Pros: This thing works great out of the box. I am using it with a mac mini and a windows 7 64 system. AT first I bought the technet TK-204UK, which Windows 7 recognized neither USB device, and the mac only recognized one.
  • Cons: I too notice the resolution issue other people describe. It's an easy solution to just make sure I'm switched to that PC before booting/taking it out of sleep.

Doesn't work with Logitech G110

Greg R., Newegg
27 January 2010
  • Summary: I called Tech support and they couldn't help. They just said it "should work". I must have rebooted 10 times trying to get this thing to work. I actually got a BSOD on BOTH machines once. If anyone has any ideas ...I'm all ears.
  • Pros: Switches monitors and audio quickly, compact design, remote switch is nice.
  • Cons: Can't get it to work with my Logitech G110 gaming keyboard! It doesn't seem to recognize it. The cables are very short. The monitor cable is too short to reach my monitor, so I had to buy a F/F adapter ($11).

OK with limitations

Cameron C., Newegg
23 January 2010
  • Summary: If you have a simple setup without any higher end keyboards, this would likely be a perfect setup.
  • Pros: Easy setup, nice switching with the detached button and decent length on the cables
  • Cons: 1. Extended keys such as the Logitech gaming keyboards don't work when plugged into the keyboard port. To work around, the user can plug into the other USB port loosing keyboard switching which isn't a big deal thanks to the remote button. The larger problem here is I often have to unplug the key...

Pleased with PC + Mac Mini setup

Marji M., Newegg
14 December 2009
  • Summary: First one I got was defective (keyboard USB port didn't work). NewEgg RMA'd quickly and second one was fine.
  • Pros: Works great. I like the little remote control button. I've got it setup with a Windows 7 PC and a Mac Mini. Switchover is fast.
  • Cons: My keyboard sometimes drops out keys. Happens very rarely, i.e. not enough for me to scrap this setup, though. I've confirmed it's related to the KVM, as I don't have the issue without the KVM in place. However, I suspect it might be because my preferred keyboard has a PS/2 interface and I have t...

Audio messed up

Philip J., Newegg
21 November 2009
  • Summary: Its not that bad except for the audio issues. Obviously, I have still been using it. I just get annoyed if i need to hear sound from my other pc.
  • Pros: Fast switching no ugly bulky box!
  • Cons: The audio has never worked correctly for me. Emailed support with no help. I just ate the cost of it and dealt with one pc not having audio/mic. Also, the computers have to be fairly near each other.

Worth for money

SAEHERN C., Newegg
17 October 2009
  • Summary: A must product to whom switching between 2 computers all the times. I wanted to connect both a mouse and a keyboard to USB 2.0 hub using 2 PS/2 to 1 USB adapter, but this configuration did not work. You have to connect a mouse to USB 2.0 and a keyboard to purple USB connector.
  • Pros: 1. Fast switching between 2 computers (less than 2 seconds as stated by other people). 2. Tiny remote switch does all what I need. 3. Could use PS/2 Keyboard thru 2 PS/2 inputs to 1 USB output adapter which I bought separately. 4. Supported 1600 X 1200 DVI connection.
  • Cons: Actually none except for having to switch to the computer which is being booted as other people said.

Awesome KVM switch

Seth J., Newegg
25 September 2009
  • Summary: Great value for the money, never regretted buying it.
  • Pros: Flawless operation. Remote control switch is a huge plus. Works with my 24" Dell Monitor. Extremely compact, and allows audio integration.
  • Cons: Could be a little faster when switching, but then again, I'm probably being impatient.
