  • Summary: Me again. I reviewed this shortly after installing. I have to take an egg off for the problems this KVM has been giving me. The thing has been crashing. Good thing I have it on a remote power switch. But it gets worse, even though the KVM is set to static IP, I need to disable its port on the switch, power cycle, wait, then renable the switch port. Do-able remotely but a pain.
  • Pros: Saved me from a long drive when an sshd upgrade went bad. So paid for itself already.
  • Cons: Frequent crashes requiring power cycle and network disconnect to boot.

Does the job

  • Summary: Does the job I need, which is to let me use a Linux workstation to access the remote BIOS over IP. So no idea how well the mouse may work. Since it did not work with my USB-KVM no idea if the remote media works.
  • Pros: The remote screen looks good, remote keyboard action fine. Worked fine with my PS/2-KVM. Nice https/javascript based configuration. Works fine with DHCP and IPv6.
  • Cons: Windows centric. Needs JAVA to work on non-windows and it is pretty picky about which JVM it will work with. Did not work with my USB-KVM even though it it supposed to. To be fair I did not try too hard on that. On screen keyboard has windows keys but not Mac keys.
