Summary: The good news is that it is a nice looking unit but once put to use things go downhill fast. I am really disappointed. I purchased this because I thought the price indicated it was better quality than conventional egg boilers - it is not for at least 4 reasons. 1.
Summary: Works as specified. Arrived quickly. was well packaged. Hinge design on the lid is difficult to insert and is prone to bending if forced. care is needed. Glad we bought this. It takes any hassle out of getting your eggs just the way you like them, time after time.
Summary: This egg boiler is a must. I bought it because I was tired of boiling eggs in a pot and sometimes missing the correct timing. This little guy takes care of things and you can even adjust how "smiley" you want the eggs.
Summary: An efficient and very easy item to clean and keep clean. I saw many cheaper models of egg boilers on the market but chose the Severin in preference. I have not been disappointed and would recommend to anyone. A good buy for the modern kitchen.
overall good product, but not good for piercing the eggs

Summary: nice design, perfect for my purposes, which is to cook hard-boiled eggs (have not tried to cook soft-boiled eggs yet), lid is a bit wobbly, the pin to pierce the eggs is not sharp enough, so I use another egg-piercer instead.
Summary: This is a very good product. I worked out the best settings by experimenting with eggs! If you want a soft boiled egg (this works with with my machine anyway), set the dial to the centre of the hollow egg illustration.
Summary: Decent egg boiler. Not very well calibrated but if you play with settings you'll eventually get there. One star less because of buzzer is very loud, almost like fire alarm, and this unit does not switch off when your eggs are cooked. But then again I haven't seen a boiler that does.
