Frustrating at times
David D., Newegg
8 April 2008
Summary: This set's greatest asset is it's low profile and small space. The USB receiver very fragile (no metal surrounding) but I've darn near broke it off several times (walking past the computer without paying attention) and it hasn't stopped working yet.
Pros: Very compact with decent range, terrific battery life. Function keys work great out of the box without software.
Cons: My 6 key on the keyboard is stubborn and requires a heavy hit to register properly. I have to backtrack very often to enter a 6 correctly. The right shift key is also stubborn as is the Enter key on the right-side keypad which I use often. Looks like this could have been a redesigned keyboard for...
Summary: I bought this for the purpose of having a compact wireless keyboard/mouse for travel purposes, and I might have to return it and purchase a different set. I'd like to have a case and a smaller mouse. Otherwise it's great.
Pros: The USB receiver is small and unobtrusive. The keyboard is small and compact, which is nice as I intend to travel with the set. The range so far has been excellent - I've tested it at around 12' without any issues. Installation was as easy as can be.
Cons: The mouse is very bulky, which isn't favorable for me. Might prove more comfortable to others, though. Also, there is no case for either the mouse or the keyboard, which doesn't seem out of the question for the price. The keyboard had some keys that stuck, but I popped off the keys and put them b...
Summary: The USB receiver doesn't have the metal shell found on most USB connectors. (It's shown pretty clearly in the images.) It doesn't seem to affect performance, but I don't know how it will impact long-term usability.
Pros: Works great out of the box. I use it for a HTPC which is about 6-8 ft. from my couch and I've had no problems. KB works with Xbox 360, which is a nice plus. Back and forward buttons near the thumb rest on the mouse are very useful (not many budget mice have them). I've only had it for a week or s...
Cons: Space bar has to be pressed pretty hard. I haven't figured out how to configure the function keys (though I did disable the sleep key).
Nice form factor but mechanical design not the best
25 November 2007
Summary: I purchased two of these sets at once, and they both had problems. I love all other things about this keyboard/mouse set. I wish that this problem was not exhibited, as I would otherwise rate this set as 5 stars.
Pros: form factor, (short) keystroke length, light action,
Cons: 1. Mechanical Design Particularily with the left shift key. If the right edge of the key is pressed lightly (same pressure as other keys on the board), it does not work properly. popping the key off displayed two sensors under it, one of which the key is not designed to press. The sensor/contact ...
Summary: i am collaborating with a small group of peeople on a very large document. I got this keyboard in anticipation of us all gathering around the big screen working on it. This keyboard has caused nothing but headaches as we pass it around with missed key strokes, constantly having to tell someone to...
Pros: It has longer range than a standard wireless keyboard. Most of the time, I hit a key and it shows on screen. Mouse is great. Newegg's fast service was stellar as always.
Cons: In my case, the keyboard range just isn't good enough. I use this in front of the 42" lcd screen, 8 feet away from the pc. I have a lot of problems with it not recognizing when I've hit a button on the keyboard. Most of my problems are with the number keys and function keys (CTRL, Shift, Delete, ...
Summary: I had been looking for a decent priced wireless keyboard/mouse combo for a long time, and the most important factor was having long range as I use this for my HTPC. This keyboard delivers on the long range, and is surprisingly good quality.
Pros: Excellent range in my living room. Responsive.
Cons: Mouse is very slightly lighter than expected.
Summary: I was very impressed with this keyboard/mouse combo. It's fairly pricey, but it works as advertised and was a breeze to set up. Simply plug in the USB receiver and away you go, doesn't even require a driver.
Pros: Very solid feel and construction of the keyboard. Nicely laid out multimedia and quick access buttons on the sides. Mouse buttons are solid with a nice feel as well. Simple set up and no messy wires as the receiver is a small USB module.
Cons: Mouse is too lightweight giving it an almost "cheap" feel, but definitely usable. The two tone color is black on an off-grey almost greenish color which doesn't really match any of my other components.
Summary: This keyboard is better than many that are twice as expensive. I was skeptical because I'd never heard about the brand (probably because it's UK based). To say I was pleasantly surprised puts it mildly. I will be getting the laser model this week and sell this to a client.
Pros: 1. Excellent Range 2. Astounding NLOS (non/near line of sight) performance 3. Very solidly built
Cons: My only concern is the mini usb (no metal surrounding to keep it solid). Feels like a phenomenally solid laptop keyboard so it takes a bit of getting used to.
