Pros: -Backlit keys with multiple color options, no issues with fading or losing lights
Cons: The keys are kinda mushy, you really have to whack 'em to get the keystroke to register. In gaming, it's not such a huge deal, but this keyboard is a terror when trying to type up term papers. Especially the spacebar; you've got to slam it down exactly in the middle, or it won't register. It's started to have some teeter-totter action, where pressing too far to the right or left won't register a keystroke, and the other end of the bar will rise high into the air. The ...
Pros: Great keyboard for gaming. I play FPS and MMO games and it works great for both.
Cons: Well, it works great when the softwar is working. I have to uninstall and reinstall the Z engine software every time I want to play SWTOR. Another thing is that they have not put out and new updates so it does not have key configurations for any of the newer games.
Summary: my headphones made a humming sound when jacked into the keyboard (stopped humming when plugged directly to PC).
Pros: The "gamepad" is relatively well designed, and thats probly the only reason why someone would want to buy this keyboard. phone + mic jacks are great but did not work well on mine. 2 usb ports. long and sturdy connection cable.
Cons: Recieved it with a huge scratch next to the audio jacks.
Summary: Let me just start this off by saying the whole reason i bought this keyboard to begin with was the game pad. I play a lot of fps and mmo games so i thought this would aid in playing these types of games. This would work normally but i have very big hands and when i was trying to play games with the pad my hand was all squished together, and cramped up very quickly. The keyboard is very sturdy and well made but the small gamepad was the downfall for me.
Summary: I love the dedicated game keypad with it's ergonomic key shapes and the configurability of the Z Engine software (which must be downloaded separately, it does not come with the keyboard). The keyboard has a solid feel, it doesn't flex under keypresses and is heavy enough that you needn't worry about it sliding around while you are using it. That said, the design has a lot of shortcomings.
Summary: I've had this keyboard for 2 years, it's a great keyboard in general. The gamepad takes a little getting used to but now I need a new keyboard and wish I could find one with a similar pad built on, fantastic idea. Fully programmable and comfortable to use. The only problem I ever had was sticky keys, after about 1 year the keys started to become difficult to type with, I took it apart and cleaned it several times at a couple of hours each since I literally cleaned it key...
Summary: Ive had for many years a merc stealth made by ideazone. From no fault of its own it is dead now and I have replaced it. Problem is some of the stock right now has a defective right strafe button. Pull the keyboard out of the box and check it before you buy it as I have returned 3 now. Other then that it is an awesome gaming board and is very comfortable to use.
