  • Summary: Had it for 6 years and it still runs strong, minimal signs of wear. I've used it HEAVILY for gaming, school, research, etc. ever since I've had it. Still running strong.
  • Pros: Excellent keyboard
  • Cons: No cons

Fantastic - 7+ years

Mark M., Newegg
15 November 2014
  • Pros: Bought in July 2007, and I'm using it to type this review. The only key that has any sort of issue is the C key where the letter started to wear off. (I don't even care, but some people do.) This board has seen so many things thrown at it, survived 4 PCs (and 2 exes), but it has lasted, including...
  • Cons: Doesn't clean itself. Out of stock.

I love this keyboard

Shane H., Newegg
23 March 2014
  • Summary: It's been my main keyboard for the last 4 years and I'm finally replacing it with a mechanical one. Still it's been my favorite keyboard I've owned since the M2. If you want an entry level gaming keyboard. Look no further.
  • Pros: This is a worth predecessor to the Saitek Eclipse. It has soft, tactile keys that feel great for gaming. The LED brightness is controllable with a dial nob above the keypad and can toggle between Blue, Red, and Purple back lighting. System volume controls and playback controls on the face are use...
  • Cons: It only supports 3 simultaneous key presses. For a gamer, this probably won't be enough in some situations. Unlike the Eclipse I, the Eclipse II has opaque indicators on the keys so the back lighting only bleeds through the keygaps. On the Eclipse I, the indicators were translucent and let the ba...

Awesome keyboard!

Susan P., Newegg
28 September 2013
  • Summary: I've had this keyboard for 6 years without any problems at all. I'm getting ready to get the newer one, and just looked this up to see how long I've had it.
  • Pros: Very durable! The backlights are great, and the keys are very easy to type on.
  • Cons: The lettering eventually does wear off of the keys.

Very solid, lasting keyboard

Brett B., Newegg
25 September 2013
  • Summary: I've owned this keyboard since 2007 or 2008, and, with the exception of a bit of black paint coming off the edges of certain keys and the dimming of some blue LEDs, everything works as well as the day I bought it.
  • Pros: -Strong backlight with a choice of colors -Dependable/lasting. -Media keys are very handy (mainly used in my case with iTunes). -Nice design. -Rubber feet are great, no movement during usage.
  • Cons: -None, generally speaking.

Exceptional

  • Pros: Awesome keyboard with 3 different colors. This is easily the coolest keyboard I have owned. Colors make it really easy to see the keys in a dark room.
  • Cons: Wish there were more than 3 colors

Eclipse II

Brandon W., Newegg
16 July 2013
  • Summary: Not that anybody should have to say it in a review but remember that this is a wired keyboard, I thought I would throw this in because wireless tends to be almost universal today. (Wouldn't want anybody to miss that acknowledgement and become frustrated once the keyboard arrived at their home.
  • Pros: The size of this keyboard isn't overly bulky or extremely crammed as some others I've used lately. The functionality of the keys is perfect (requiring just the right amount of pressure in order to type) the keys aren't clunky when typing nor are they so easy to press making allowing for typing er...
  • Cons: The only "real" con that I can think of is that the flip tabs on the back on the keyboard that adjust the angle that it sits at while typing are fairly weak. That is not to say that they will break from typing but if you have a son who "likes to show his frustration" then be advised a fist to the...

Perfect Keyboard

Brian N., Newegg
1 July 2013
  • Summary: I use to scoff at Saitek branded products a decade ago but now I love their joysticks and keyboards.
  • Pros: I am 'downgrading' from a Razer Anasi to this Saitek Eclipse II and couldn't be happier. The keys are solid and responsive and the backlighting is just right and has a variety of colors to choose from. The Razer isn't working right anymore. The 5 key usually won't activate on the first try and th...
  • Cons: None so far. Good all around keyboard for the buck.

Decent

Linden S., Newegg
26 June 2013
  • Summary: I owned the original saitek eclipse keyboard and loved it. After 4 years of abuse it still worked like a brand new keyboard. I hope this one lasts as long.
  • Pros: -3 different colours to choose from -fits my big hands nicely
  • Cons: -it would be nice if it was cheaper, not really a con. you can probably buy a better keyboard for the price
