Nice Keyboard, horrible keys

Joshua M., Newegg
10 September 2013
  • Summary: Its a nice keyboard, don't get me wrong, but its so hard to press the keys down that its really not worth using. Too much of my time is spent going back and making corrections in my work due to this keyboard.
  • Pros: Nice presentation, media keys work well, lights are cool since they go through the keys themselves, solid construction
  • Cons: The keys are way to hard to press, when I first got the keyboard I thought I merely had to break it in, but after almost a year of use, it still hasn't gotten any easier. almost every key, except for the space bar, has to be pushed down with such force that most of the time I end up not pushing t...

Saitek Eclipse II illuminated Keyboard fail

Thomas C., Newegg
25 March 2013
  • Summary: No issues on my home Windows machine. Issues encountered were on LInux based machine.
  • Pros: Looks great, colors are neat.
  • Cons: The button that changes back light colors sends unknown commands, causing issues with browsers, highlighting, hyperlinks, etc. This keyboard is unusable at my workplace.

Not Thrilled

Amber R., Newegg
26 December 2012
  • Summary: The keyboard is rather dim & I was a little bit disappointed by that fact. My keyboard randomly broke on me about 4 to 5 months into the ownership of the device and I have been attempting to contact customer support regarding the keyboard for ages now.
  • Pros: LED Lighting is decent Comfortable to use Good size
  • Cons: * Lights not as bright as I would have hoped * Keyboard broke in less than 1 year * Attempted to contact support for the item and never received a response back from the manufacturer in any way. Attempts via phone & e-mail * Keyboard has no built in memory & the color has to be reset every time y...

Does not remember the LED color you set

Anonymous, Newegg
29 June 2012
  • Summary: When you change the baclikght color to your preference, the big problem is that it just doesn't remember your setting and always goes back to the default blue. For example, if you prefer red and change your backlight to red, you think you're set, but when you shut down the computer, your setting is...
  • Pros: Nice layout Visually appealing Blue LED color is pretty (you better like this color because that's only color it remembers to stay set on)
  • Cons: -Some of the keys did not register correctly when pressed. Apparently my unit was defective. -It does NOT stay on the color you set. This is not a defect - all these Eclipse ll keyboards will not permanently stay on the LED backlight color that you set. This keyboard advertises as having a choice...

MadCatz terrible support

Anonymous, Newegg
16 April 2012
  • Summary: The person on chat this time was very curt and certainly came across as not giving a hoot. Tried calling their tech support 800-659-2287 and recording states they have temporary hours of 5a-9a PST. What a joke! So I called the corporate office number 1-619-683-9830 and could only leave a message.
  • Pros: Good all around keyboard, for light to medium gaming. Good size and decent build quality for the most part. Please see cons.
  • Cons: This is my second Saitek Eclipse II keyboard. I purchased the first one in 2007 and until now it was working ok. The keys started to not respond, but really the legs broke off. Well I got my new one last week from the Egg. Unfortunately one of the legs was broken. I didn’t want to send for RMA so...

Doesn't last well

Brad T., Newegg
9 March 2012

Great for 6 months

Zachary K., Newegg
23 February 2012
  • Summary: Try the Eclipse III, maybe you won't have the issues that I had.
  • Pros: I really loved it when it worked. Great colors (wish a keyboard actually had green backlights for onces) and great button response.
  • Cons: I've bought two of these over the years until I moved to a different keyboard. After a few months I had to start plugging and unplugging in the keyboard to make it function, no problem, i'm a patient man. A few more months pass by and my AW and shift key start bugging out, they won't work sometim...
