Nice Keyboard & Mouse
donna a., Newegg
9 September 2009
Pros: The keyboard keys have a good feel, not soft at all. The mouse has a nice design also. It's M$ so it works pretty well.
Cons: The only con about this set is that the mouse keeps losing connection and turning off. I have tried replacing the batt's and still the same. It's a little bit of a hassle to have to resink the mouse every day, but it does work well.
Pros: Got this as a gift to my girlfriend when it was a CHEAP Shell Shocker deal. She loves it and has had no problems with it whatsoever. Battery life is admirable, lasting her about a month and a half with at least 6 hours of use throughout the day.
Cons: When it dies, it really dies. No battery meter, no warning, nothing, just cut out completely. It'd be nice to have some sort of gauge, but at this price, not really complaining.
Summary: It took me forever to figure out how to work this thing as I'm not used to wireless items.. For those that are struggling, a little instruction manual would do wonders. You don't need to download any drivers, so don't even bother.
Pros: Comes with a wireless receiver, so bluetooth isn't needed.
Cons: Mouse's default setting is kind of sensitive, the range isn't that long.
Summary: This is my second attempt at a review, the first never showed up. A workaround for no sleep hot key is to put a standby short cut on the task bar. The mouse goes to sleep after a few minutes and wakes up with a click.
Pros: Works well, very easy installation, good wireless reception, doesn't take up half the desk. Mouse has a nice feel. I like this keyboard more everyday.
Cons: When I purchased this shell shocker it was described as having a sleep button.... it does not. They have since changed the description to more accurately describe this keyboard. But the retail version still describes it as having a sleep hot key. ?? Intellitype and Intellipoint don't include this...
Summary: to tally it up..... Long battery life 15+ foot keyboard range 5 foot mouse range
Pros: wireless. volume control buttons on keyboard. long battery life. range for keyboard is probably about ... (walks to other side of room... test test test test test test...) a good 15 feet. the mouse is effective 100% under 5 feet, but any distance longer than that, the mouse starts cutting in and ...
Cons: the scrollwheel misbehaved for about 2 days. but its all good now. the RF reciever is a small box flat box measuring about 3x2 inches. gotta find a discreet place for that on the desktop.
Summary: For $19, it's great. The kb feels fantastic and has the basic multimedia buttons atop (volume, mute, pause, ff, rewind) which are welcome for my setup at home. I'd recommend it as long as the mouse range is acceptable.
Pros: Cheap price, comfortable keyboard and generally a good mouse. Perfect for my setup, keyboard has decent range and is a full keyboard (no mashed up insert/home/page up area like many newer ones).
Cons: Mouse range is poor and it may be my batteries, but they don't last long! I generally have to stretch the receiver to within 3' of the mouse, not quite what I wanted for in that regard.
