Good Keyboard and Mouse for the Money

Frank C., Newegg
13 July 2011
  • Summary: Keyboard is comfortable, battery life is good, the price was right.
  • Pros: I have bought several wireless Mouse and Keyboard Combos and for the money on the Shell Shocker you could not beat it. I would purchase another if and when it becomes available again.
  • Cons: When the base was a little far from the mouse I got a message saying the batteries were low.

Long Term Owner

Jason G., Newegg
1 July 2011
  • Summary: Have had it for 3+ years now. Going to buy another thru this current Newegg $18 deal for my office-office.
  • Pros: Exceptional battery life for both the keyboard and mouse. Good, quick response from the mouse even though it is optical. Casual gamer and it's fine. Useful keyboard buttons that can be remapped.
  • Cons: Short range. Not a problem for me, but I have tried to sit on my couch before in my home office about 7' away and got no response from keyboard or mouse.

Just an observation

Peter A., Newegg
21 June 2011
  • Pros: I did not purchase mine through newegg (from retail box store). Sorry Newegg, it was on sale and just too good of a deal to pass up. I've had good luck with mine (range), and in general, have been happy with any MS hardware purchase.
  • Cons: What I wanted to point out, is while I was looking over these reviews, it just occurred to me that this is the first one where the bad reviews did not have a response from the manufacturer. LOL, Microsoft! Just what you'd expect from them.

Good enough set. Great value

AD, Amazon
25 May 2011
  • Summary: Pros: + Easy to use + Compatible with both PC and Mac + Battery life. I went on for 2 months before I had to replace and I'm a heavy computer user + Great range. About 3 1/2 feet max works for me + Unbeatable price.

Basic wireless option for the desktop

M. Abbott, Amazon
27 October 2010
  • Summary: The title adequately describes my overall review. I have an older version of a Microsoft executive desktop with a similar design that I have used for five years. It has a couple more features. I was looking for an inexpensive option for another home PC, and this has met my need.

nice keyboard set, annoying software

P C., Newegg
11 March 2010
  • Summary: i would have given this set 5 eggs had it included the correct working software. i am going to try to find some new stuff software or drivers online, and maybe it will help.
  • Pros: the key board and mouse are very nice, great price, range is good.
  • Cons: the software keeps having problems - whenever the mouse sits for like 5 minutes is says that the batteries are low, but if you open the menu it says that the batteries are full. - the mouse is a optical wireless 1000, as it says in the title, but the software included didn't have that as an optio...

Good Wireless Set

Anonymous, Newegg
18 February 2010
  • Summary: Just bought my 4th one: Home computer, Kid's computer, Mother-In-Law's computer, Work Computer
  • Pros: Work like it's supposed to, and has a good selection of extra keys. I like the sleep key. Shuts system down in about 5 seconds, and it wakes up in about 10 seconds. A real time saver. Batteries last a long time.
  • Cons: Sometimes a little fussy about where you place the receiver, but mostly when the batteries are getting low.

Really Good, but not Great

Login A. Wolfenden, Amazon
27 November 2009
  • Summary: We got this product to use on our computer that is hooked up to a television screen. It works well but has only about a 6ft range. That was disappointing because it doesn't reach across our living room, and the fact we have to sit really close to the screen.

wireless keyboard

yarik, Mwave.com
4 November 2009
  • Summary: Keyboard is fine for light to moderate general purpose work [word processing, email, server terminal, etc.].
  • Pros: I wouldnt rely too much on it for heavy duty work [it doesnt seem like it was designed for heavy work anyway]. I havent really tested the rangeit works fine within a few feet of the XP Pro-based workstation that I use for testing and development. Im satisfied with the keyboard.
  • Cons: not yet
