The Microsoft Wireless Laser Desktop 5000 is a wireless mouse and keyboard that lets users work without worrying about tangled wires. The mouse and keyboard features a battery status indicator that alerts the users of low power when the battery status indicator senses battery life is running out. The mouse and keyboard requires a PC that has Windows Vista™, Windows XP Pro/Pro x64 Edition/Home/Media Center Edition/Tablet PC Edition, Windows 2000 SP4 or higher, 60MB free (Install 100 MB) hard disk space, USB Port connectivity, a CD drive, and 4AAA alkaline batteries (included). The Multimedia Hot Keys are supported for use with: versions of Microsoft CD Player, Microsoft Deluxe CD, Windows Media® Player, and certain versions of other popular media players and browsers. Internet access required for certain features.

Features

The mouse features Microsoft® High Definition Laser technology that gives it more responsiveness and smoother tracking, features a 4-Way scrolling with the Tilt Wheel Technology, Instant Viewer that allows users to scroll wheel button to instantly display open windows, then point and click to select as well as a magnifier. Users point and click to enlarge and edit detail using the Magnifier. The keyboard features an ultra-thin Comfort Curve Design that allows natural hand placement and prolonged usage with the ergonomist-approved Comfort Curve design with quiet touch keys and Windows Live™ Call Button, which allows users to access Windows Live Messenger contact list by the press of a button. Other features for the keyboard are Gadgets Button – a one-touch access to gadgets such as weather information, news updates, traffic maps and slide shows of online photo albums; Windows® Start Button - to launch Start menu and search PC or the Web if Windows Vista is installed; Reversed Slope Palm Lift – a removable palm lift for a more natural wrist position; Detachable Palm Rest – that allows users to work in the position that’s most comfortable with detachable palm rest and adjustable keyboard legs; Cushioned Palm Rest – for resting the palm during typing task; Media Center – that allows users to access favorite music, video clips, and media programs with a button; and Enhanced F-Key Functionality - that allows users to open documents, reply to e-mail, toggle between standard and enhanced F-key commands, and more with the touch of a button.
