Not reliable, do not buy

Anonymous, Newegg
10 March 2009
  • Summary: Overall this product is way overpriced for its performance. I'm really disappointed.
  • Pros: Keyboard tactile feedback is very good, silent keys too. Wireless bluetooth - comes with bluetooth dongle which can be used to pair other bluetooth devices with your desktop/laptop computer. Mouse is rechargeable. Keyboard comes with built in tactile touchpad with mouse function which can be turn...
  • Cons: Mouse and keyboard signal drop off randomly, not good if you want to hide something quickly. Mouse would act weird at times clicking and opening up applications on your PC. (Did try with updated drivers but didn't make any difference). Bluetooth dongle doesn't support A2DP protocol which means no...

USB dongle missing.

Paul G., Newegg
13 January 2009
  • Summary: First bad experience with Newegg. Newegg offered to look in their wherehouse and see if they could find a replacement and get back to me in 1-2 days. Otherwise they will replace but I have to ship the keyboard back, wait for it to get there, and then they will ship a new one.
  • Pros: Seems like a nice keyboard, if only I could use it.
  • Cons: Bluetooth dongle was not included in box, though was pictured in the product photos.

Returned it. Pretty, but not very functional

Anonymous, Newegg
21 December 2008
  • Summary: Overall: nice looking keyboard, but not a joy to actually type on for email or document creation and definitely a no-go for gaming (trying to play WoW was a pain due to the key quality).
  • Pros: Attractive design, bluetooth connection was cake to set up.
  • Cons: The keys felt flimsy and cheap (this is compared to my Dell Inspiron 9300 laptop keyboard). The lack of full sized F-keys was also annoying (initially did not think it would matter to me).

beware the lag

Brandon G., Newegg
16 September 2008
  • Summary: This was meant to replace a $30 set that I have been using for 2 years. But sadly, this will be going back as it doesnt even function as well as the cheapy model. Sad because its advertised as having a 30' range.
  • Pros: excellent feature set. would be a great HTPC keyboard/mouse if not for one HUGE con
  • Cons: once you get about 8-10 feet from the receiver, both keyboard an mouse will start to lag to a frustratingly unusable level.

User Review

Marcus C., Newegg
31 March 2008
  • Summary: Bluetooth seems to work well, can be slightly laggy at times tho. I wasn't disappointed in the keyboard until the "S" key started working only when it felt like it. It's my own fault for tossing the original box but for $140 keyboard/mouse I expect something slightly more reliable.
  • Pros: Nice keyboard. Slim form. I like the built in mouse controls on the keyboard itself. The mouse is comfortable, nothing spectacular.
  • Cons: The function keys are a little awkward at first. It takes a while to get used to touch sensative keys. My main complaint was that the "S" key only works about 50% of the time. Used the keyboard for about 20 days then threw away original packaging. On day 21 the "S" started acting up. Newegg won't...

Great idea not perfect not close

Danny W., Newegg
30 September 2007
  • Summary: Just plain annoyed with this keyboard. Should have gone with the Logitech BT desktop. I tried to give MS feedback, but get this they charge you $xx for any support after contacting them after 90 days? Seriously LAME.
  • Pros: Connection. Good idea interesting features, but bad design.
  • Cons: The touch keys are junk. They go off without you realizing you brushed them. It's a dumb idea a normal key would never make that mistake. Seriously WhaTFellow thought that up? It maybe a minor complaint but it's completely annoying. Annoying enough to write this review. The mouse is LAME too. It ...

Great Keyboard, Shabby Mouse

Anonymous, Newegg
9 May 2007
  • Summary: I occasionally hit the touch sensitive keys on accident which is a pain in the bum. If you get a working mouse, this package has a great keyboard but I would recommend purchasing a seperate mouse.
  • Pros: Keyboard is excellent. I was a little concerned about the ergonomic layout, but I adjusted within a week and I am now typing like a pro. The bluetooth connect immediately and seamlessly, a real improvement over older Microsoft bluetooth keyboards. The keys are soft, quiet, and have great tactile ...
  • Cons: The only program I've found the media keys to work with is windows media player despite advertisment by M$ that it works with most players on the market. The real problem with this set is the mouse. I have found the laser technology to be grossly inferior to optical technology. I find the mouse c...

I like this keyboard / mouse set a lot, but...

Jeremy Smith, Amazon
8 October 2007
  • Summary: The mouse is as good in use than the previous MS Wireless Laser Mice, and the keyboard is excellent - as someone who doesn't make much use of the number pad, I didn't miss it. However, for me, there are a number of flaws that prevent me from giving it more than two stars.
